I thought something like this after reading (and agreeing with) Perez's post. Negative criticism without substance has in fact gotten traction on the internet in recent years (The Manhattan Art Review, for example, is contrarian drivel that became popular for being negative). It's not just negative that's lacking, it's good criticism, which is hard to do, takes a certain artistic touch, essentially takes an artist to do it. Criticism is a creative act. The act of creation requires critique, and the act of criticism should be respected as such. I'm afraid few creative people want to write criticism because the internet flattens characters, and creative people are afraid of being viewed only as critics. So rather than negative criticism being the solution, I think what is needed is more creative, incisive criticism without fear of how the ego appears on the internet. And then negative criticism is part of the equation naturally, bc every artist out here knows most of the shit around today is God awful

@LwyerAdam @ExpatLitJ Beautiful Adam, ty. I can barely recall the story but I just felt the distinct sensation of reading The Fall as a teenager.

@20gaShotgun I wasn't joking but also not expecting anyone to take my suggestion seriously. I use it but I'm working alone w/o deadlines. Steep learning curve. On year 3 now. One's hatred of Adobe must be passionate. I wish it was industry standard bc it's beautiful.

@moonandmouth @JoshuaCitarella Nice work, Steff. Felt like an ancient watching a great philosopher annotating the downfall of a civilization. Mimesis/memetics, and so on.
