Same guy, same player. Just went from suboptimal conditions under Wenger/Emery to elite setups under Arteta/Alonso. No different to what we’re seeing with Havertz and many others. Environment (tactical and cultural) is everything.
Xhaka, though. Incredible.
Can’t think of many midfielders who’ve had a better 12-18 months. He’s been in those world class conversations, looks completely rejuvenated from 3/4 seasons ago.

Just seen the MOTD analysis of the offside goal. Lee Mason can’t officiate professionally again. It’s not a perception error as is the case with most refereeing blunders. He’s decided not to do his job thus bringing the integrity of the game into disrepute. Unacceptable.

I think a notion developed among non Arsenal fans that Wilshere lived off the Barcelona game but he played like this more or less on a weekly basis that season at the age of 18. One of the best prospects I’ve seen to this day.

People were talking like Arsenal had moved on from Jesus and Zinchenko and here they are keeping us in a champions league quarter final. Might be time to show some appreciation.
Last thing from me - Zinchenko was brilliant in the 2nd half. Settled the team down by taking control on the ball (could see him visibly instructing players in possession) & didn’t put a foot wrong defensively vs Sane, held him up in 1v1’s and nicked it multiple times.
