It can copy the color scheme and basic composition but fails to copy mark-making, important details, etc.
Maybe in the future dall-e 3 will be able to make images which appear equal to this original? but for now it transforms the input image quite a bit.
@arvalis
this is not accurate - it tried to create what it think commonly goes in the bottom right - a signature. This is not unique to any one artist, it has seen millions of images with signatures and therefore thinks it is statistically likely for *some* signature to go there.
Hitting the streets with Poetry Camera Round 2 (by
@kelin_online
and me)!! It's always fun when the audience of the poem is surprised with how much the camera can pick up from its subject. It's uncanny sometimes.

Optical alignment! Figure ground relationship has more tension on the right when the padding is smaller b/c of the difference in radius, to my eye. The little gap is more attention grabbing when there's more contrast in its width.
Emily and I just watched the Matt Mercer x Stephen Colbert D&D video (it’s great) and I was like “So what do you think of D&D?” (Emily has never seen before) and she goes “Its just FlipTales” lol she doesn’t realize this is the biggest compliment she could give me!!!
🥬 personal news 🥬
I’m the “lead designer” mentioned in this article and I start on Monday! Super stoked to play with AI and join a company at this early stage for the first time.
Funding announcements are often drab but
@Haje
made ours *riveting*. (Seriously, read it.)
Excited to announce we just raised $3M from a veritable DREAM TEAM.
Couldn't imagine a better partner in all this than
@jamesjyu
.
@Peter_Wartman
Idk, this is like saying biking is pointless when you can train to run marathons and sprint as fast as cyclist with training. Like yes of course but clearly there are some things the bicycle makes way easier and not everyone wants to put in the time to train like that

I mean it very much is a business problem. Extremely hard to differentiate in a sea of metal rectangles and make something people care about enough to buy.
@RoamResearch
@AdamLivesay7
With all due respect, I think this tone alienates potential customers. Maybe others feel differently. Adam was speaking respectfully as far as I can tell. This is not the first time I’ve seen this account making quips at the expense of people offering constructive criticism.

Basically, the ai has seen so many examples of functions that it can predict that code that follows will be determined by the function name. And it’s seen enough similarly-named functions to predict how this one should be written specifically.
@jenistyping
I think it comes from feeling detached from directly helping people, and then choosing the most feasible job that would let them directly help people without having to go to school for it. Possibly their friends tell them they are great at giving advice.
Hey game design twitter! A client I am working with is looking to bring on indie game designers to create experimental social games. They will purchase IP and fund development, and handle production once design is complete. DM me your email and I can connect you to the manager!

child: Dad why was every movie in the 2020s a multiverse movie?
me: well, the 2020s was this weird time where it felt like we were all living in our own different worlds, all while our institutions crumbled
Okay so the little preview in dispo makes it so that you focus more on whatever is happening *in real life* that you wanna take a picture of instead of how it’s gonna look in the app
Harmony Toolbox beta launched!
This is something I've been working on for a while 😅 and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! About 50% sold out so far :)
@HamasakiLaw
When my brother visited sf our car was broken into and some irreplaceable nostalgic things were stolen. He went on a trip to Europe recently and told me he was paranoid the entire trip because he was afraid of being stolen from again. So yes being stolen from can be traumatic

On TikTok, day-in-the-life videos are popular. Could you find a way to celebrate how awesome your days are, and the routines you've cultivated? Sharing my favorite images from Porco Rosso that make me feel a kind of process-oriented joy.
@victoriaying
It is pretty cool for educational purposes though to see what Monet may have seen when making that painting and understand the kind of artistic decisions he made
Dalle generated tea cups. I feel such a direct emotional connection to these. It is so easy to believe they are human made. I can imagine the fingertips shaping the clay and putting in the time and soul to create them.

Amjad, I have another idea!
Using a language model to help you with important computational thinking concepts - abstraction, decomposition, algorithms.
E.g. the highest value thing for someone to tell me when I'm coding is often "just get the X small problem to work first"
Recently, one of the writers using Sudowrite told us it moved her so much that it brought her to tears. She had gone through a few years of writer's block until she tried story engine.
🚨 INCOMING BADASS 🚨
@DungeonCommandr
Joins the writing team! I met DC at Metatopia and got to play Ross Rifles with them. They're a really kind person with some really inspiring goals for the RPG space so I'm delighted to have them on the team.
@arvalis
I see what you are saying but I have seen AIs put nonsense signatures often, including when there is no artist name in the prompt. I stand w/ you and artists broadly but I think it's important to be precise in the critique of AI and the signature argument is not it IMO
Hello friends
As we enter the time of year where everyone reconsiders how they spend their time, id like to share my method, which had evolved a lot over the past year!
Step 1: write down your values (these are mine) and give them an icon (optional)

This focuses on translation jobs without also noting the benefit to the general population of mass access to translation 👀 people don’t choose a cheaper option maliciously.

I really like the idea of some kind of scalar controls though, like dragging a slider up and down for "intensity" or "sadness" or something. Nice work!

after a couple long nights of prototyping: Poetry Camera v4.1 is born 💐
- more prominent viewfinder (makes room for the wifi dongle)
- new embossed mode markers around the knob
- new battery door which makes it easier to replace batteries

My dad asked me for AI art of "You are not going through a difficult time. A difficult time is going through you". Took a couple tries, but I think René Magritte is the right style for this.

i know this has already been said but, if you have
- a good exercise routine
- good sleep routine
- manage stress well
- get shit done
- enjoy life
- show up for your relationships how you want to
- brush your teeth twice a day and drink enough water
I am extremely impressed
@KyrickYoung
OK I have no idea what I'm doing here but -

I had to cut this in adobe premiere, but what if tools like this were integrated 🤯
