Starting the year with a new paper on arXiv! I always thought it was so cool to talk about research here, however previous work I have done isn't really easy to present to a general audience, until now! Here's a link to it: or read more in this thread.

Best decision I ever made during grad school: joined an intramural ultimate frisbee team. Grad school is tough, forcing myself to get some exercise improved my mental health so much! Highly recommend!! Second best decision: I also joined an intramural sand volleyball team.

@_notatool Sure, more like it can learn what you tell it to and understands the language. For example you can teach it basic arithmetic and after a bit of leaning, should be able to do basic operations while before that it couldn’t.

@_keekschen @Guglimat I think it was a funding problem, they just didn't have enough money to pay for that. I don't think they offered any discounts really, but you could purchase the university insurance that's a bit cheaper and easier to deal with, especially if you are an international student.

@josephb363 that would definitely depend on the field. I have an office with two more officemates, no laptops/pcs were provided.
