I’ll try to write something to address this in detail. But I think this civil war is overstated (though yes there are some real divergences between the populists and the techies). But briefly: In general: I dislike substituting American labor for cheap labor. My views on immigration and offshoring flow from this. I like growth and productivity gains, and this informs my view on tech and regulation. When it comes to AI specifically, the risks are 1) overstated or 2) difficult to avoid. One of my very real concerns, for instance, is about consumer fraud. That’s a valid reason to worry about “safety.” But the problem is much worse if a peer nation is 6 months ahead of the US on AI. Again, I’ll try to say more.

@VincentSosnows1 @Hithere1825373 That is a separate point of discussion; the question here is whether or not one who does not recognise someone as a true pope is guilty of the sin of schism by that very fact. De Lugo says no.

In the history of the Church, there have been divers times wherein the identity of the Roman Pontiff was disputed among Catholics, e.g., the Great Western Schism. To recognise or not this or that person as a true pope is a separate question from the authority of the pope in se.
Protestant sects are those who reject in principle the authority of the Roman Pontiff and embrace some or all of the doctrines of the Reformation. Sedevacantists are those Catholics who refuse to recognise Francis as a true pope. Those who conflate the two are dishonest.
