I just ate at a Ukrainian restaurant, where I got a complimentary shot of hrenovukha (homemade horseradish vodka) plus gherkin and black bread. They call the package “the vaccine”, which makes sense, because hrenovukha is something that if it doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.
