When I was a kid, I wasn’t fit. Plain as that. Now I regard my body with respect, and my physique represents this. People ought to think hard about what their body says about their ideals. A chiseled body typically means a chiseled mind.

School for me was rough. I remember the end of first grade my teacher finding my unfinished assignments in the back of my desk, “oh there’s that assignment”. Meanwhile I had been at home taking apart lawn-mowers and vacuum cleaners, and building my own computer.  Phew.

ADHD used to drive me nuts. I went my entire childhood wrestling with it. Got diagnosed freshman year. Took back the reigns from meds almost 10 years later, never felt better Growth means turning your curses into your strengths.

One thing I wish I learned earlier: it’s ok to be uncomfortable. It’s 100% normal. You should expect it. You’re going to be nervous before making calls (for awhile), and getting comfortable with that discomfort is a huge level-up.

Last year I took a month off to be a ski-bum in Colorado. I worked remotely on my laptop between runs. It was awesome — my version of digital nomad. You can do this yourself with: 1. Remote Job (or at least hybrid) 2. Laptop & Wi-Fi 3. Fresh powder

I’m not a huge fan of “mental models” or “tools” (usually it’s just fluff), but 1 tool that I have been using is the “Power List” by Andy Frisella. Surprising actually, but I swear by it this year. It provides me the structure to get the needle-movers done daily.

Red flag: People who talk frequently about "glory days" of the past. Where they've worked, what they did, or what they've won years ago. It's nice...but it's over. See potential, not the past. Get excited for that.

Tinkering with stuff is a way of life for me. Taking apart lawnmowers when I was in grade school. Rigging home automation software. Building businesses and growing my career. It all falls under that same mindset: CURIOSITY.

Step 3: Breaks Are Key: Every hour, I’d step away from work. Sometimes it was even 10min. Whether it's a short walk or a quick stretch, these breaks were necessary. I can’t force my attention to cooperate, so again, I work WITH it.

Step 1: Embrace It: I stopped fighting my ADHD. Instead, I acknowledged it as a part of me. That’s not a pretty process. I have been off and on medications for it, and finally had to find solutions instead of bandaids.

When I worked at Twitter, I had 3 catered meals a day. I still prefer the bean burritos rolled by hand on the farms for lunch. Something about being directly connected to the work you’re doing is so important, especially in today’s digital age.
