Undeservedly so, this crew was scrutinized plenty at the beginning of the year by keyboard warriors. They're owed an apology because the product from the beginning has been safe, playable and consistent. Green grass in Chicago in late December is no small task.
Crews at Soldier Field worked into the night last night to remove snow from the field. The tarp had been put on the field early in the week and likely won’t be removed until shortly before warmups tomorrow to prevent flash freezing of the field

To every person that still thinks golf course superintendents are the Carl Spackler's of the world, I'm going to need you to pay attention for the next 2 minutes and 8 seconds. Course superintendents are cut from a different cloth and the hours they put in are incomprehensible.

Great day to do aggressive work on our grass transitions. Blow lips out, core aerate to relieve compaction, collect cores to remove any lime that may have migrated into edges, roll. Detail that may go unnoticed by many, but goes a long ways in field quality.

Plenty of beautiful natural turfgrass baseball fields across the state of Iowa. 160 degree synthetic turf in the middle of July isn't ideal. Reward the facilities that invest the proper resources to have natural playing surfaces.

Ironic how all of these NFL (current and former) players are going public about advocating for natural turf. All aspects of the game affecting player safety need to be looked at
With all the new NFL rule changes aimed at player safety I can’t help but wonder when will the Owners recognize that field turf causes just as much or more injuries in this game than the lowering of helmets does!? Bring back grass fields!!!!
