"Can't do this to your teammate"
Actually, the Braves have had WAY too many baserunning blunders over the past few years. I like Ozzie stepping up and taking charge
Ozzie Albies is evolving from a goofy, funny teammate to a teacher and team leader.
There was clear laziness from Ozuna on the bases, which could’ve easily led to either of them getting thrown out. Absolutely love this fire from Ozzie.
Michael Harris II is a guy everyone thought was a pitcher until the Braves let him get a workout in the outfield 3 years ago. He's going to be the biggest star on the field not named Ronald Acuña Jr in almost every game he plays.
Baseball is weird, man.
It’s time we have a real conversation about Freddie Freeman and the NL MVP award. This is incredible.
(Yes I know Acuña exists. I promise it’s closer than you think.)
Fair warning: when Cole Hamels drills both Yadi and Flaherty in the pursuit of justice for Acuña, I will be leading the charge to immediately retire his number and induct him into the Braves HOF
The turn on Vaughn Grissom is wild. Dude's 22 years old and has torched every level he's been at except for the Majors. If he hadn't spent a day in the bigs he'd be the teams
#1
prospect and be in the top 75 league wide
The Phillies, who seem to be featured as the "hottest team in baseball" in August, have gone 17-9 this month and are being billed as a serious threat to the Braves.
Atlanta has gone 19-8 in the month of August.
Tell me you're taking the Dodgers lineup and I'm calling you a liar
RAJ Mookie
Ozzie Ohtani
Riley FF5
Olson Smith
Ozuna Muncy
MH2 JHey
Murphy Lux
Kelenic Taylor
Arcia Outman
For anyone worried about the DS, ask yourself who wins the position battle:
C - Braves
1B - push (should be Olson but I'll be generous)
2B - Braves
3B - Braves by a mile
SS - Phils
RF - Ronnie by over 9,000
CF - MH2 by 3 miles
LF - Philly
DH - Braves
Braves Facebook will swear up and down that Ronald Acuña Jr is a clubhouse cancer and needs to be traded, then turn around and say the Braves should get Bauer.
Think about it:
- Ronald broke a million records, went 40/70
- Olson broke the ATL singe season RBI AND HR record
- Strider broke the franchise k record
- 1-5 in lineup all posted 30+ 💣 's
- 3 players hit 40 💣 's
- Riley came up 3 RBI short of 1-5 all having 100 RBI
Unreal
Media - "IF YOU DON'T WANT US TO USE IT, DON'T SAY IT WHERE WE CAN HEAR YOU"
RAJ - not talking to you
Media - "CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS GUY ISN'T TALKING TO ME??!!"
Y'all are a joke.
Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo on the eruption after Rangers shortstop Corey Seager’s game-tying home run, registering 112 decibels: ‘That was easily the loudest crowd noise I ever heard.’’
When Strider goes 5 or 6 today I'm going to laugh my ass off. You think Snit would be starting Spencer against Nola in a tied series if he only thought Spencer could go 2-3 innings?
I don't even care. That was the single greatest, pettiest, most disrespectful things I've ever seen on a baseball diamond. Only thing that could've topped that was a homer and restarting the trumpets
Guess which player is getting killed after their performance in the playoffs
Player A - .333/.412/.400 134 wrc+
Player B - .071/.071/.071 -72 wrc+
Player C - .125/.176/.188 -1 wrc+
Player D - .067/.125/.067 -48 wrc+
Schwellenbach is just ridiculous. Never walks people, averages 96, throws absolute FILTH.
Just an incredible pick by Alex. Just draft arms named Spencer or with SS initials
Spencer Schwellenbach of the
@Braves
is the only MLB rookie in the modern era to strike out 8+ batters without a walk in 3 consecutive starts.
He's also the only rookie in the modern era with 25+ strikeouts and no walks over a 3-start span.
Can't blame Snit. All 3 of your high priced relievers blew this game. Offense has given you 7. Schwelly gave you 7 dominant. Let's see what happens I guess.
No disrespect to Mike AT ALL (I love him), but I will be monitoring this discourse HEAVILY. I have not forgotten the amount of folks who, less than 365 days ago, were downplaying the significance of historic power/speed seasons.
Freddie is an incredible player and I won't be surprised if he matches or exceeds his 7.1 fwar from last season.
Ronald is going to go 30/60(maybe 70) and potentially top 8 fwar. You're absolutely crazy if you think there is any discussion about NL MVP
1 rule I would really support in baseball: a HBP tracker like the NBA tech counter. Once he hit a certain number of players, you miss a start, or a series if you're a reliever. You have to have some sort of consequence for guys with no control throwing inside
I WONDER WHY HE WOULD BE DOING THAT?? COULD THERE BE AN AVAILABLE PLAYER THAT WOULD SERIOUSLY CHANGE THE REVENUE GENERATION IN ATLANTA SPORTS AVAILABLE???
With Milwaukee not throwing Burnes, you gotta take full advantage. Empty the tank. Throw Charlie, Huascar, Minter. You don't want to face Burnes in an elimination game.
Bear in mind that when Morosi says "its unclear if the Braves will match" what he's saying is "I don't have any sources in the Atlanta FO and have had no contact with anyone who knows what Alex is thinking"
Since the Angels, who were basically eliminated on OD, just cost us Riley for the rest of the season, I believe the Braves are entitled to 1 Angels player for the duration of Riley's injury.
It's not just that you lost this game. You weren't favored for a reason. But every single bit of momentum you took after Game 2 is completely gone. The manager has been wrong on every single move, the pitching has sucked, and the offense has been astonishing levels of bad
I see this debate is popping up (again), and I'll say this as I usually do:
1. Braves aren't going to change their name, nor should they.
2. Even if they were to entertain changing names, all the names you guys come up with sound like 11 year old allstar team names
Media: Anything you say is mine to use however I wish as long as I am close enough to overhear it!
Also media: wow I can't believe RAJ wouldn't talk to us! How dare he! Doesn't he know I have a job to do?
The next time someone tells you the Braves farm system sucks, gently remind them that Atlanta is tied with CHW and MIN for the most players inside the top 60 and tied for 7th in overall top 100 prospects (per fangraphs).
This narrative that the ATL farm sucks just isn't true
We'll always have the memories of that month long stretch where people really tried to downplay the 1st 40/70 season in the history of the sport because a RF played a bad SS for a few games because the richest team in baseball decided not to field am actual SS
Not to pile on Cubs fans, and Dansby is likely worth the contract just on rhe defensive end, BUT...
Dude ended up doing EXACTLY what many said he would. Career offensive year in 22, IMMEDIATELY reverted to his pre-2022 offensive form.
Really don't feel like listening to any excuses. Everything was in your favor. You had plenty of opportunities. Spencer pitched really well. Offense shit the bed. It's that simple
Cant wait for the first pitcher to catch a suspension for beaning an Astro. I believe the interview will go something like this:
Reporter: so MLB handed you a 5 game suspension?
Player: good to know I caught a harsher penalty than dudes who've been cheating for 3 years
Phillies fans so loyal and incredible that you have to go back nearly a full decade to find a season where they showed up more than Braves fans 🫢 such incredible fans tho for sure
@torch_twang
@Unexplained
Sure shes obviously not right, but no, that dont take priority over the fact someone could've taken a butcher knife in the chest just for answering their door.
Dear Cardinals fans,
For years I have assumed you were the softest fans in the NL. After watching Cubs fans (and broadcasters) whine and cry and make everything about them, I get it.
I don't apologize, but I get it.
Dear Mets fans,
A while back I asked some questions about whether y'all had a real rivalry with the Braves. After having interacted with Braves fans WAY too much in the last 24 hours I finally get it. I apologize.
