In Delta, the Higgins Family turned their single family lot into four homes to meet their housing needs. Mom and dad live in unit 1, grandma lives in unit 2, and the kids live in units 3 and 4. This is the type of unique housing solution that should be legalized everywhere.

What an insulting message to young Canadians. It’s single-detached homes that have become the out-of-reach “luxury” product. Condos are the last best hope for young people who hold onto the dream of home ownership. Politicians who don’t understand this are becoming irrelevant.

Justin Trudeau says one thing but does the other. I visited Edmonton Griesbach, where Justin Trudeau promised to build more affordable homes. Instead, he's building luxury condos you can’t afford. With his plan — developers get rich, you get gouged.

Taylor Swift is coming to Vancouver! Ok now back to housing. 🧵 75% of the land in our cities has been artificially preserved in time capsules while the majority of housing types remain illegal to build. That’s the problem BC’s new housing legislation is trying to fix. 1/6

Delta Council only just endorsed a parental leave policy. We now have 3 parents with young children on council vs 0 five years ago. If we want anyone under 40 in elected office then we need to support young parents in politics. The alternative is politics as a retirement gig.

There’s so much wrong with this take. Here’s the truth: we’ve NEVER had a free market for housing. Multi-unit housing is ILLEGAL in 75% of our cities. New legislation removes restrictions created by Gov’t and finally allows communities to grow in response to unprecedented demand.

Once again, Jewish people are being captured, tortured, and slaughtered. I grieve with my friends and all others who have lost loved ones. I stand in solidarity with the Jewish community, at home and abroad, against this weekend’s horrifying attacks by the terrorist group Hamas.

I wish this were true. The reality is that BC cities, like most cities in a North America, have radically restricted new housing supply. Multi-family housing is illegal in the vast majority of our neighbourhoods. Demand suppression as a housing policy has failed miserably.

@actuallyeaton @BrianPalmquist BC under different governments has followed the developers’ siren call of “ Supply, supply, supply” for decades but rents and home prices have skyrocketed! Removing municipal zoning is yet another developer dream - but will worsen affordability. 💰💰💰

Today I marched alongside hundreds of proud #deltabc residents in support of our Delta Hospice. Our community built this facility. Nobody should be unfairly denied membership because of their faith or personal moral convictions.

Yesterday I was honoured to be sworn in as a Director at Metro Vancouver for the second time. I’m looking forward to working alongside our newly elected Board Chair George Harvie, Vice-Chair John McEwen, and my fellow directors to tackle some of our region’s biggest challenges.

Last night Delta Council provided third reading to two projects that will collectively deliver 350 below-market housing units for seniors, young families, and persons with intellectual disabilities. Lots more to do but a step towards adding much-needed housing supply in Delta.

Yesterday, Delta Council voted to wave all sidewalk patio licence fees as well as application fees for patio building permits and changes to liquor licences for the rest of 2021 and 2022. We also voted to expedite approval for any current or future outdoor patio application.

1.1 million people were slaughtered in Auschwitz. Regardless of one's stance on the issue, comparing the ability to access medical assistance in dying with the systematic mass extermination of an entire people group is reprehensible, vile, and cruel.

Another quote from the president of the Delta hospice board: "This is the Delta hospice society, not the Delta Auschwitz society."

Total nonsense. People BUY or RENT their homes and have the right to work and play and school and eat and shop where ever they damn well please. This is about control. Nothing more. Council ⁦for @CityofEdmonton ⁩ can FO.

I was elected at 23. @CouncllrNTaylor was 19. A diversity of perspectives is important. When picking candidates, let’s focus on the quality of their ideas, not the numbers on their birth certificates. #electmillennials

I’m proud to have voted in favour of this project. I still believe it is a good project for Delta and the right one for Southlands. I hope that working with the City, we can still find a way to get to yes on this. We need to keep this great local company in #DeltaBC !

So the federal electoral boundaries commission has massacred Delta. Parts of North Delta, Annacis and Tilbury lumped in with Richmond East, East of 112 lumped in with Surrey West, and a “Delta” riding that extends to King George Blvd?! There is no logic or reason to this madness.
