Very excited to see the official working paper version of this paper drop. This is a super impressive data effort on an extremely important set of topics. Sets up huge opportunities for future work on the public finance aspects of energy.
I'm really excited to share this new @rff working paper, which is the result of >2 years of data collection and analysis. It quantifies local government revenue from various energy sources across 79 counties in 10 US states (🧵/8)

This is a great^10 paper for anyone interested in energy transitions. @alexgazmararian and I go into the credibility aspects in detail in (including firm perspectives not just communities) but this paper covers much more, too. It brings a ton together.
Getting a paper out is always a satisfaction! Our paper, "The energy transition: a balancing act", with @MarReguant, is forthcoming at Resource & Energy Economics

Agreed. This is the central point of this new book with @alexgazmararian applied to the energy transition and featuring the voices of impacted communities.
@NataliaFabra @MarReguant Impressive! When Economists identify a Hicksian Pareto improvement, we should think about the implementation issue of credibly compensating those who lose from the new policy.
