This is an absolute disgrace, if my wife requires any further treatment on her brain tumour then it must be done with the Proton Bream as the surgeon has removed as much of the tumour as possible. Looks like we will be forced to go private.
10,000 cancer patients should be receiving Proton Beam Therapy (an innovative treatment) every year if we were to match European standards, yet it's fewer than 500.
Capacity exists to deliver a reasonable amount of PBT, so why the brutal NHS rationing?
