@davidcarr333 @UHN @studiofrew In our review of admitted medicine patients with cancer, we found that more than 80% had documented code status, though half of that had values and advanced care planning discussions documented. The documentation may just not be in the code section of epic (check acp section).

This interesting study by @blairgolden found that grabbing a chair and sitting when rounding on inpatients improves patient experience particularly those surrounding perceived communication. Would love to see future studies with objective measures (eg time spent at bedside).
New in @JHospMedicine: IM residents were twice as likely to sit at the bedside on units w/ folding chairs. Patients were also more likely to say that residents spent enough time at the bedside + checked for understanding on units with chairs 🪑.
