Goodbye appendix. Today marks my first day with @AusAntarctic and the start of my preparation to overwinter at Davis Station for next season. Why the elective appendectomy? There is no evacuation possible or another doc on station to do it midwinter should I get appendicitis

@DoctorKarl What I find interesting in some of the reports was that somehow the inertial navigation system also got fooled - despite these being gyro driven. Also surprised the spoof signal didn't trigger the RAIM system and an error warning on the GPS.

@caffeinemedic Why not join the many other NHS refugees and come to Australia to be a rural generalist? Be your own boss, do surgical procedures, anaesthesia and also be paid significantly better.

@sineadtaylor I'm yet to have heard of an electric, pneumatic or hydraulic fall, so not sure why we still use the terminology mechanical falls.

@jdmanley17 @DoctorKarl Agreed - prevention always better. Same reason why we should be investing more in primary care, not just expensive treatments in tertiary hospitals.

@Dr_Polarbird Oh I used to think Endnote was my friend too, til I tried to publish a paper and realised my misplaced trust. Duplicated papers, first names as last names. I felt like I had been lied to all this time and that was even considering doing manually referencing again...
