The 23-24 MBB team is my favorite Cyclone team of all time. 18-0 at home (21-0 if you count KC), the best defense in program history and a team that loved playing basketball together.
This TEAM is exactly what coaches and kids should watch if they want to get better.

I can’t get over the depth of Iowa State. Depth was constantly a problem even at the best of times in the Hoiberg era.
The 4th guy off the bench led the team in scoring, didn’t miss a shot, got 9 boards and played incredible defense all night.

This is a phenomena I call the “pity cheer” and I’ve only ever heard it at Hilton Coliseum.
It’s like a choir of dad’s in unison saying “Alright, we gotta get a stop here,” and they all just stand up and start clapping after Iowa State gives up a 10-0 run. And it works!
