Valorant "Soulbans" are live, so if you've cheated before, all your past, present, and future accounts will also be suspended. Some spirits will be released when the game is, allowing you to try once more on a new account, but this is the absolute limit of our mercy.
located a VALORANT universe where there were 8873 less cheaters and moved us all into it, please be careful as your bones may've shifted during dimensional travel
Cheater report feedback ("you recently reported...") is now back online. Please continue to use in-game reports to receive a subscription to hack facts.
@KaiiExe
Nope. Vanguard doesn't monitor your clipboard or your recycling bin.
We only take screenshots of the game window when you're in game, just like every other anti-cheat.
Please picture me as a beautiful Mallard duck, just returned north for nesting season, and picture your harassing me to be unbanned as water sliding elegantly off my freshly preened, waterproof plumage.
6) Don't DM random Rioters your sob stories. Their hearts still pump warm blood, and it breaks what's left of mine to explain that cheaters can cheat at the truth. You don't get innocent ears, you get mine, and they're filled with so much pitch, I can barely hear your screams.
can you set an autoresponder on twitter dms? I want mine to read, "yes hello thank you for contacting the unban department, which member of your family installed cheats on your computer today?"
We're seeing a lot of cheaters re-appearing on accounts that don't belong to them, and Vanguard preemptively locks these to avoid the damage.
These aren't "false bans," you just need to submit a ticket for recovery.
Also please enable MFA. PLEASE.
3) While we released a third of the bans on launch, these were the lightest offenders with otherwise stellar track records. If you find yourself still unable to play the game, please do not panic, you are just experiencing what punishment feels like.
So, if the summary of your League of Legends accounts can best be described as a clean "main" and a countably infinite number of cheating "throwaways," I've compiled a list of hobbies you'll want to look into with all the free time you're about to find yourself in possession of:
In honor of Saint Valentine and everything he stood for:
We’re gonna be allocating boosting punishments to those that have gained significant VALORANT rating from duo queuing with a cheater.
♥️ Because it isn't true love if one of you has an aimbot ♥️
1) A ban for cheating in VALORANT is intended to prevent a cheater from playing VALORANT. If you could just make another account, that wouldn’t really be a consequence, it’d just be an inconvenience.
So, we're thinking on how to best impound the elo bus, and out of sheer curiosity, if someone is caught repeatedly queuing with cheaters for the majority of their VALORANT competitive wins (but not cheating themselves), which punishment do you think the most appropriate?
It's been 9 long years and the absolute ride of my life, but today marks what will be my last day at Riot Games.
Having a quick break before I announce the next project, but in the meantime, you can pass future gun buddy requests to
@ItsGamerDoc
or
@RiotK3o
.
4) Some cheaters were inaccurately told they’d be unbanned by well-intentioned agents, but screenshotting this and expecting it to supersede anti-cheat policy will not suddenly result in your being able to play the game.

One of your smurfs (begins with an A) was manually suspended by an overzealous agent for dunking in platinum, and the resulting hardware ban also hit your main. I've unbanned your accounts, sorry for the trouble.
2) Hardware bans are deliberately opaque. Just like magic, you’re not meant to understand how the technology works, and just like all anti-cheat, it’ll still be circumvented eventually. There’s no need to speed that up by being loud about it.
5) We will periodically unban additional sets of hardware based on the severity of the original offense and our confidence in the iterative Vanguard product, but we are not unbanning more at this time.
Vanguard starts when the system does to prevent vulnerable drivers. It can be stopped to load them anyway, but without connectivity, Vanguard attests to this not having happened by simply still being there when a game is launched.
It's the "who loads first" problem.

You're getting the same answer, because you're trying the same lie.
I've reviewed your case, and it's beyond apparent that you attempted to run a cheat. Maybe stop submitting tickets and instead consider your account's sacrifice a free lesson in competitive ethics.
Taking action to remove a large amount of cheaters from VALORANT permanently. Players who have submitted reports against these individuals will be notified if they are currently logged on. Thank you for helping keep VALORANT a safe and highly competitive gaming experience.
We did a live version of "Here Comes Vi" for the
#LeagueOfLegends
anniversary. Only had a day to put it together,
@mjpaol
and
@FayeMata
really showed up to make it work. Crowd chants brought us home, thanks nerds.
We've heard your feedback about not knowing what the anti-cheat does, and our team has been working tirelessly to address it. We're excited to announce that today, we will be leveling the playing field for cheaters through the power of open source.
@itsedaxe
no one here was banned for spamming with scroll wheel, these are all applications that dodge skillshots by reading client memory to determine when/where an ability has occurred

Brother who among us hasn't gotten completely ripped and bought a cheat on mom's credit card? HWID bans from beta had a 90 day expiry by default, but the second offense will be indefinite.

I certainly don't think kernel anti-cheat is necessitated in every genre, but free-to-play competitive games currently demand an extremely low time-to-detection, one we can't hope to achieve without attesting the security of the operating system.
@Dinodogstudio
TPM 2.0 is required for Windows 11.
If you're switching to UEFI mode and the current OS drive doesn't support it, the current Windows installation can become unbootable.
One More Novella on Open Systems vs System Integrity:
We're in the business of trying to put games on a relatively insecure platform, and the more open a prospective system is, the more access we need to validate its defenses. (1/4)

Vanguard blocks VMs, because it's trivial to manipulate a VM from the host, invisible to any anti-cheat within it.
Our allowlisting GFN is difficult, because the driver does not have connectivity at launch—a simple local check is far too beatable.
LoL Scripting almost always results in early-onset ban syndrome (EOBS), the symptoms of which include: hand tremors, dry mouth, hypertension/hypotension (alternating), ageusia, retroperistalsis, and eventually, the complete inability to access your LoL account.
Helldivers 2 got review-bombed by players complaining about their anti-cheat, so I reached out to anti-cheat leaders from Riot Games, Roblox, and Fortnite to get their take.
Are players over-reacting to kernel-level anti-cheat drivers?

in this example, you still wouldn't be deserving of the rank you achieved, and I'd operate under the assumption that any player actioned for these circumstances would feign ignorance

it will be several months to let things settle, but yes, we plan to do a big ol' anti-cheat retrospective.
this is not the last you've heard of us.

Vanguard can't and doesn't enable TPM for you, the user must do it in BIOS.
We have a case where a player switched to UEFI mode when prompted, but the OS drive didn't support it.
So, we're stuck in this middle ground where, you COULD mess with your operating system, but we have to make ourselves responsible for knowing about it (and not letting you play when you do). It's a massive tradeoff, but a necessary one for competitive PC gaming today. (4/4)
Never been less confident in existing, so I think we can say the thought experiment failed. As a contingency, let's do 10k valorant points to the first person that can increment EIP by 1.
My tried-and-tested way to get into games industry is to simply spend your time in college failing classes playing League of Legends and obscure 12 game poker mixes on Bitcoin sites, use the skills to bust cheaters in poker, and then use those skills to bust cheaters in League
It's the same thing when we're talking about why we can't support Linux. The distributions have become bespoke and so freely customizable, we have no real viable way to attest to the security of its kernel. The whole operating system itself could be the cheat. (2/4)
