I came to the following conclusions based on the two stories.

I graduated from this department and I can tell you that you are wrong! No one is glorifying any failure.
First, at least 50% of the courses you register as ABU Biochemistry student are not offered in the department. And you register mostly external courses in 100 and 200
Sometimes we glorify failure, suffering and injustice in academics.
No sensible university will accept this results, it obvious that the staffs of the department are the real failures not the students.

While Doctors are respected almost everywhere, I think the obsession with hierarchy is mostly a Nigerian thing. I worked for few months in a foreign hospital but nobody cares about anyone’s title/position. People just do their shits and go home. Cleaners too dey maintain steeze.
