People are dying from hunger.
Sudabeae are starving
A deliberate & slow death of millions because of two power hungry, war thirsty generals & an inept, weak & selfish civilian political leadership that cares more about their pol seats than the people of Sudan.
F*ck them all
Activists broadcast pictures showing the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in camps for displaced people in Darfur due to severe food shortages, leading to widespread malnutrition among children.
Talking about Sudan is like yelling into the void. Doesn’t matter how many rapes, massacres or killings are reported, only a handful are listening. If the country collapses it will be met with a shrug.
Every village & town we passed thru people would come out with their kerkade (hibiscus) juice and cold water for the “Khartoum travellers”. Humbling experience cause they don’t have much but were offering plenty.
Why would I leave this?
We as Sudanese are being erased.
Wiped out.
& it’s done w the tacit approval of the UAE.
We don’t want your hand wringing or words of concern we want you to fucking do something about this devil state & its militia

I don’t know where to start in regard to how dire, how horrific the situation is in Sudan. Impending famine, sexual violations & violence, near zero healthcare & education, displacement of 10mn people. It’s frustrating we all keep shouting & nothing.
No amount of words can describe the sheer destitution and horror millions in Sudan are living in. Couple that with the ongoing war, the savagery of the RSF militia and the fact there’s seemingly no end in sight to this situation
In Central Darfur, Sudan, as the war continues to wreak havoc, people are stuck in a humanitarian void with no means to survive.
“Our situation is terrible. We are living without a roof & have no food.”
Najwa's story👇
Ramadan Mubarak to all those observing this holy month.
For many of us, this is a bitter sweet time. April 15 will mark one year since war broke out in Sudan. And the bullets are still raining down on us.
“I love our country very much…the taste of our Nile, of our mud is better than anywhere else. I never imagined that one day I would ever have a different view of Sudan. Today with all its bitterness I wish I could leave Sudan right away.”
My heart is breaking.
“Now the future is dark. No one knows what will happen next.”
9 months of conflict in
#Sudan
. The people of Sudan have suffered too long.
They need an end to the fighting now!
There are so many horror stories from Sudanese who fled seeking safety elsewhere & not finding it. The shutting down of Sudanese schools in Egypt is having a huge detrimental impact. The issue of ‘residencies & the difficulty in obtaining it is also major. Ppl are scared.
A widely circulated image on social media depicts the mass displacement of residents from several villages in Al- Jazira state, due to the incursion of

In 2019 the tide shifted, the protests were massive and we all knew the end was near for Omar ElBashir.

At the processing centre for temporary visas to Jeddah, Saudi. The numbers aren’t getting any smaller. The Saudi team hasn’t arrived yet. No one knows if they will, yesterday they didn’t come.
We made it out of Amarat. Hamdillah.
Khartoum is a ghost town. Not one living being. The shooting didn’t stop throughout the day. We didn’t see any but our family who picked us up said bodies were strewn on the roads. Can’t believe we’ve come to this.
This is how desperate, how catastrophic the situation is in Sudan that MSF, the MSF, are forced to cap the number of CHILDREN they can treat bc supplies are being blocked by the militia
🚨 There is only enough therapeutic food to treat malnourished children in
#Zamzam
camp,
#Sudan
, for another 2 weeks. As a result, today, we have sadly been obliged to cap the number of children who can receive this treatment, because the RSF have blocked our supply trucks.
I spoke to a girl from Kadugli, Kordofan - families are offering their children just to get money to be able to feed the family. Females are forced to have sexual relations with RSF so their families are spared. No money to buy supplies? Sex is payment.
Himity is in South Africa?!
So the country that’s filed a case against Israel in the ICC is now feting the genocidal general who’s literally destroying killing looting and raping us?!
Someone make this make sense.
Nearly 24hrs later we made it to Port Sudan, took the longer route but safest one. Spoke to relatives who headed to Egypt on bus, travelled before us & are stuck at border waiting for passports to be processed. Apparently its a nightmare. Seems someEU/UN folk leaving fm PSudan
To the western negotiators: you put us in this mess & now you’re swooping in to take your kinfolk (the ones that matter) & leaving us behind to these two murdering psychopaths
I’m logging off. Bc I don’t know what’s going to happen next & I’d rather be w family than provide news
No one leaves their home unless they have no other option. And I mean no one. But right now we are made to feel we’re better off facing the rsf and the army than the treatment being dished out to us at exit ports. It’s humiliating, degrading and inhumane above all.
Posting this cause Sharhabeel is a Sudanese icon. I miss my hometown like I never thought was possible & his words brought back in a mad rush all the things, the people & places that made Khartoum. Our city had many many faults but it was ours.
Ladies & gents this is how you greet a militia head who’s been killing, raping and looting your country folk for the past 9 months.

The horror stories will continue to come out in this drip drip fashion cause we’re too traumatised, too overwhelmed to fully comprehend what has happened, is happening.

Utterly shaken after meeting survivors of the ethnic cleansing in Darfur here in eastern Chad. The women that were gang raped by Arab militias, the father that had three sons killed, the mother who took in 5 orphans. They must not be ignored anymore by the rest of the world.
Khartoum our city wasn’t without faults. But it had its charms its people its vibe. It’s now been rendered into empty frightened streets with everyone huddled in their houses not knowing what’s going to happen next. My niece said to me we haven’t heard shots in 30min? And she ate
More than 10million of us Sudanese are displaced. The number keeps growing with every passing day & as long as this war continues with no authentic push to stop it the number will only go up. And the situation in Sudan will only get worse
We managed to leave. I have no idea where we’re going at this point I just do what I’m told to do.
This is a nightmare.
God have mercy on us cause no one else gives a damn and no one else will be merciful.
The mobile & internet blackout in
#Sudan
has god awful context - massacres have been committed both during this war (El Gineina) and in the past (General Command sit-in).
This is beyond frightening.
"One woman, according to the UN, "was detained in a building and subjected to repeated gang rapes over 35 days"
#Sudan
: rape, sexual violence and war crimes, according to the UN
The cultural decimation of Sudan by the RSF continues. Mohamed Wardi’s music transcended generations & borders. Watch his concert in Addis Ababa on YouTube to understand & appreciate what his music meant to so many.
This militia is hacking away at the Sudan as we know it.
More than a 100 killed by the RSF in ONE DAY in Al Jazira.
More than 15,000 killed in El Gineina.
Estimations more than 150,000 killed in 14 months of war.
The silence is sickening.
People discussing ways on getting out of Khartoum, on leaving the country. Khartoum folk can do that. Makes me think what all those IDPs from the Nuba Mountains & Darfur went thru. We allowed this happen to us. We kept quiet 30 years ago & our silence has come back to haunt us
15th April 2023 forever etched in our memories.I moved back to Sudan in 2013 determined to never leave again, ten years later a militia & an army would force millions of us to leave. The war hasn’t stopped & doesn’t look like it will anytime soon.
Port Sudan is turning into a temporary administrative capital of the country.
1. Serious talk of Badr & Tarco flights resuming to Jeddah, Cairo & Dubai
2. Banks are due to open today so at least money can begin to circulate. The national bank has a branch in Kassala
This “call” is great but how will it be implemented? And when Ramadan is over fighting starts again? We were fasting Ramadan last year when the war started. We broke our fasts during 2mins of silence & then the shelling would start.

Yesterday was heavy.

· 50% of IDPs in Darfur, 17% in South Darfur alone

A genocide is being carried out in Darfur —AGAIN. And the silence is deafening. The RSF are brazenly carrying out their atrocities and all we get are weak statements & hand wringing from govts & politicians. Pathetic. We Sudanese are shouting in an empty room.
Sexual violations & violence during war & esp now in

is so criminally underreported for various reasons. Women are predominately the victims & face assault not just from the militia but the army as well. The generational impact this will have, is having, is incalculable

Now, evidence that SAF soldiers in Omdurmen are coercing women into having sex in exchange for food aid.
One women said she was tortured because she "stopped having sex with them."
I can hear cars honking in celebration on the streets. But Bashir ousted and the others remain is not what we want nor what we demand. REMEMBER THIS - the whole regime has to go

My socials are going crazy with the news of the recapturing of the state tv & radio complex in Omdurman.
Think it’s the first time I read and hear sheer jubilation from Sudanese.
May the rest of the country soon be free of the RSF.
Been hearing stories all day about people going back to their houses to pick up personal belongings & finding RSF soldiers making themselves at home & inviting the owners to join them for a meal for ex.
Can we ever go back after the rsf broke the sanctity of our homes?

They said almost all Kitchens-institutions feeding people-are 80% funded by Sudanese inside & outside the country.
They stressed that bureaucracy inside international agencies is worsening the crisis.
Sudan's military leader, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, refused to allow humanitarian aid to reach areas controlled by the rival RSF on Sunday.
"This will not happen until we end this war and defeat these criminal rebels and drive them from the homes of citizens, government and service
I was meant to travel today. My mother & myself. Instead we’re all trying to find a way to leave our homes & seek “safe passage” to escape our army & a paramilitary force who are firing weapons indiscriminately in a show of power with no thought to our well being
No vaccines
No food
Note: vaccine stocks were in warehouses in Medani which the RSF ransacked and looted. So if preventable diseases won’t kill you, the acute lack of food will or the bullets/shelling.

The war in Sudan has received a fraction of the attention given to Gaza and Ukraine. Yet it threatens to be deadlier than either conflict. It is possible to save millions of lives, if the world acts now
🧵
A lady we know in Omdurman her husband was held captive by the RSF for more than a year. He’s alive but emaciated. They’d get 2 cups of water a day if they were lucky. A plate of lentils that wasn’t enough for one person let alone 5 of them.
I can’t repeat this enough - none of us want to leave but we have no choice. We really have no choice. It hurts. Our homes are an extension of us. And no one knows what we’ll return to when we do go back.
As our attention is understandably focused on Gaza, we can't forget another horror - in Sudan.
