I’m all for cancelling Netflix and what not. But how about we Christians also set out to make (and curate) some true, good, and beautiful art that can actually offer something compelling, lasting, and meaningful without empty platitudes.
I have mentioned a few times that my wife, Bethany, and I are opening a bookshop here in our town. Well we open on Wednesday and wanted to share a few snapshots of what we have been working on. More later.
@thomaschattwill
Because ostensibly they will ONLY on prayer. Might they not be combining the two? Might they not be praying for the eyes to see solutions? 🤷♂️ I’m no fan of the admin, but I do t begrudge anyone praying for help.
So some exciting news . . . My wife, Bethany, and I will be opening an independent bookstore in our hometown this November. It's going to be called Goldberry Books and we will be selling both new and used book, with an emphasis on classics, poetry, and children's books... (1/2)

What we know:
Young kickers are good.
Jayden Reed is legit.
They need Jaire to play
Doubs has taken a leap
Love has a ton of potential
Gary is back!
They need Aaron Jones healthy
They have a ton of questions at OL depth
Joe Barry is still Joe Barry

@AlGajdostik
This is statistically not factual. Homeschooled kids on average test higher, and they succeed in job placement at at least as high a degree. Many colleges and employers prioritize them because of their interpersonal skills.

Wait. This for real? This is probably the most absurd thing I have ever heard. Haha. Have you seen his performances the last 3 years?
@zachkruse2
@MasterTes
He looks like his back is in bad shape. I honestly feel for the guy. As someone who has a bad back I wouldn’t want the whole world watching me run. And in only 32 haha
@RobDauster
And in this case, the Wake fans were well onto the court before the horn sounded, in a game that inbounded the ball with 1.8. Could argue this should have been a Technical.
@SethWickersham
He has 14 fewer INTS, 4 times fewer sacks, and less FF and FR than Butler who didn’t get in (and whose numbers are remarkably close to Polamalu’s).
Go read Wendell Berry’s essay, “The Work of Local Culture.” It has even more to offer to people living in 2022 than it did to its original audience in 1990. Essential reading for our times.
One year ago today we opened
@GoldberryBooks
here in our hometown of Concord, NC. What a year it has been. We are so grateful to be a part of this community, to be sharing the wonder of good books, and to be doing it as a family. Thanks to all who have helped support us!
@thomaschattwill
Well, for one, because people like the head of the Stanford School of Medicine, the WHO, multiple governments, and multiple peer-reviewed studies all suggest that natural immunity is better. 🤷♂️
@LRiddickESPN
Yeah but only one of the teams is forced to play “better defense” and that team is decided by luck. Just give the home team the ball. Let’s make it part of the strategy.

Seahawks have a terrible offensive line. The Packers have one of the best. They also have an offensive minded coach, a top 3 WR, an amazing running back, etc.
Absurd.
@mikegolicjr
You don’t think it’s at all fair to be wondering why they ran it on 2nd and 18 and 3rd and 18 with the game on the line and a tired D, especially when they had just run one of the plays?
Running an indie bookstore in a town where a Main Street construction project that was supposed to take 6 months but is now scheduled for nearly 2 years, in a town run by people who actively refuse to help local businesses, is an experience, let me tell you. This is out front…
@IanKenyonNFL
@JuMosq
Seahawks could easily have 5 losses. Rams missed a field goal. Niners missed a field goal. Bucs should have beat them. That is the league.
Here's

on LITTLE WOMEN:
"Little Women shows family in its most potent and least saccharine form. It reminds the viewer that wholesomeness isn't naiveté, that it can be a life-giving force to be reckoned with."

The more I think about it, the more it seems like hes just being genuinely petty. He doesn't have actual leverage. He has a good team around him. He has a great coaching staff. He has the love of a huge fan base. It's just pettiness.
@Riley_McAtee
This really should account for the number of times Rodgers (and for that matter Favre) drove his team for a game tying or game-leading drive only to have the defense give up the victory. Or the number of times his defense has allowed 40+.
@minakimes
first of all, why the original PF? He was still on the field, fighting for yards?
Second, you can't have a non-coach on the paint like that. that's just silly
