The notion that the top 1% have 'taken' wealth from the bottom 90% suggests a zero-sum view of economics, which is not how a market system operates. Wealth isn't a fixed pie where one's gain must be at the expense of another's loss. š§µHere's what actually happens:
The top 1% of Americans have taken $50 trillion dollars from the bottom 90% in the last 50 years. And you wonder why people in this country are angry?

@ArmandDoma @elonmusk Thereās a difference between using tariffs as a political tool and simply closing off a countryās economy

@ArmandDoma You worry too much about how they have decided to spend their money on someone else. I bet you arenāt even a little bit worried about how the government spends your and everyone elseās money.

The government is not your friend
I hate being an alarmist. I really try not to be. But this is unprecedented. If you havenāt already started, now would be a good time to flood your representatives with phone calls and emails asking for the immediate removal of Elon Musk from having ANY access to the inner workings of our government. There is a hostile takeover actively happening in our country and weāre all just kind of watching it happen.

Taken to its limit, 100% taxation means slavery. You are 60% slave in this tax beacket
The biggest slap in the face the UK government imposes on its most productive workers is the Ā£100k income threshold. At this point, they tax 40% while also removing the tax free threshold giving a person an effective marginal tax rate of 60%. Itās the bureaucrats saying āwe hate you for being successfulā. It has the direct impact of making top talent leave the country or dial back their efforts. This tax threshold is responsible for a catastrophic loss of UK productivity.

Government intervention in speech, even well-intentioned, often does more harm than good. Trust in the free market of ideas where open debate, not censorship, reveals the truth and fosters progress.
The far-right are sowing fear and division across the globe. Progressives must act by tackling online hate, challenging extremist rhetoric, and proving democracy can deliver for all.

@MancTotter Markets determine wages based on supply and demand for labor. Jeremy Clarkson's high earnings reflect the value his unique skills and fame bring to the show, similar to how a star athlete earns more than a groundskeeper due to the demand for their talent.
