I have a brother like this. Social skills are so much harder for him than assembling a robot. There are just so many layers of skills that a 7 yo knows but he doesn't. Even if you want to teach him, you wouldn't even know where to start.

As a beginner why would you want to try something so complex? There are bazillion nice recipes that take less than 30 minutes: pasta, risotto, burgers, beef stroganoff, bbq. Heck I can make a mean friend chicken in under an hour. That's just Western food.
