Hate to burst your bubble but right now, that’s all it is. He was also THE PRESIDENT ELECT when he said he wanted to renegotiate NAFTA, negotiations didn’t start until a year and half after he took office and didn’t go into effect until almost 4 yrs later. That’s over two years of negotiations, plenty of time to see the initial draft of the USMCA and make preparations before the agreement went into effect.

So you think you should cut workers benefits on a “hey, this guy said he wanted to do this thing” with little to no details on how if it will or if it will even affect your business and you say I’M the one that’s incompetent? If you think it’s a good idea to kill christmas bonuses to buy a year supply of materials because of something that may not even go into effect until a year or two from now then you are what is commonly known as a piece of shit and I only hope you enjoy having your year worth of supplies with zero employees to put them to use.

Umm no. If executives are doing this now, they are only using the tariffs as an excuse to fuck over thier workforce. As it stands now, there is no indication of when the tariffs will go into effect and how much it will effect anything. There has been zero plans drawn up, zero negotiations, zero percentages, zero determinations on products affected…. nothing.
