This is why it was always a cop out to say we can’t do anything about the deficit because discretionary spend is so small. Usually when someone says you can’t do something, you should prob try to do it and see what green shoots emerge.
Quibble all you want at the $$ saved by DOGE being 2% of the federal budget, or what have you. The cultural impact has been tremendous. So much money was funneled to unaccountable NGOs or downright brazen corruption. Nobody cared for a long time. Now they do.
