A former Volusia County teacher has been arrested for a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student. Patrick Gingras, 35, formerly of Taylor Middle High School in Pierson, was arrested late Wednesday on a warrant for sexual conduct with a student by an authority figure.

Heartbreaking. 8-year-old dies after he was attacked by two dogs.
A local family is dealing with tragedy tonight after a pair of dogs fatally attacked an 8-year-old boy north of DeLand. Reported just before 5 p.m. in the area of Arabesque Dr/Airport Rd. Witnesses called 911 & began CPR on the victim, but he was not able to survive his injuries.
