The murder suspect - 25-year-old Alonzo Harkness - was taken into custody this afternoon in Daytona Beach. He is being charged with second-degree murder for shooting and killing his stepfather Saturday night.

Malik Hinson (DOB 3/21/01) and Keyon Bacon (DOB 5/20/00) were arrested last night in connection with the shootings on W Volusia Avenue and Euclid Avenue.
Both are being held at the Volusia County Jail. Hinson is being held with no bond, Bacon is being held with a $1,000 bond.

The motorcyclist in Thursday’s fatal wreck has been identified as Jonathan Lee Swallows, 30 of DeLand. He worked briefly as a police officer for the department in 2011. Our thoughts are with his family as they deal with this loss.
