FHP remembers Darryl L. Haywood, who died in the line of duty on October 2, 2004. Trooper Haywood died in the line of duty as a result of a vehicle crash. At the time of his death, Trooper Haywood was 50 years old and had served with the Florida Highway Patrol for 4 years.

FHP remembers John C. Baxter, Jr., who died in the line of duty on October 2, 1985. Sergeant Baxter died in the line of duty as a result of an airplane crash. At the time of his death, Sergeant Baxter was 57 years old and had served the residents of Florida for 25 years.
