I also run a restaurant and CERB isn’t the real issue; the issue is that the industry has been broken for a long time and COVID just made it obvious. And don’t forget that food service was the profession with, I believe, the highest death rate from COVID.

If you listen really carefully to where people * think* they’ve lost freedom, it’s mostly related to being free of accountability. Just because you’re used to being free from natural consequence doesn’t mean it’s gonna stay that way—it’s still not actual oppression, though.
“Freedom” is thrown around by populists like there’s some dial they’d just turn up. If freedom were measurable in units, it would be on a scale like Freedom House. Canada has a score of 98%. Not much room left on that dial. If you think 🇨🇦 is not free, you’ve been duped.
