From my perspective, one of the most difficult parts about awards in this space is that it is incredibly hard to tell who is ACTUALLY doing the work that deserves recognition. For example, we have a "Head Coach" who has a team that wins a championship. On paper, good candidate, until you realize they have never even organized a practice for that team before and the players did all of the work. VS a coach who placed top 32 but worked with that team nonstop to get them from a gold average to a diamond average, they didn't win, but that coach is probably a better candidate for that award. Not calling any 1 person out, it is just difficult with job titles and responsibilities all over the place.
