I went to 30 minutes. On and off. Sometimes we push it to 25. Kept our guys fresh and we played better out the r gate. I won’t change 😂

I wouldn’t say it’s fool proof that it makes you better. But I think it does help. If you stick to it you’ll see it pay off. Competing just makes you better in the long run

I’ve coached high school football for 31 seasons. In that time I’ve never met with the players or coaches the day after a game. Everyone needs a mental and physical break from the grind of game week. Think of it like a football Sabbath. 6 days of football. 1 day of rest. Try it. You will thank me later.

@AMPopps I agree it was a fun lighthearted moment. We definitely supported her needs and she’ll do great this week. The student is a great participant every other day so it wasn’t a big deal to us.

@CoachJones007 @AnnalisaPullig No we give them an altered workout for the day of a competition. We want them to compete at a high level. Maxing out like that would give the inverse that we would want to see

@AnnalisaPullig Totally reasonable I get it. She sat out today she’ll go compete and be great and I supported her. World keeps turning and she’ll be back after her tournament. I don’t think any reasonable strength coach would ask an athlete to max before the biggest competition! At least I hope
