Do ‘Guardian Caps’ work? Based on this new study of high school football players, the answer is NO. Let’s look at the details: 1,188 players wore non-Guardian caps 1,422 wore Guardian caps There were 64 sports-related concussions during practice. Who sustained the concussions? 33 players wearing Guardian caps (51.6%) 31 player not wearing Guardian (48.4%) The players NOT wearing the Guardian caps actually HAD LESS CONCUSSIONS‼️ Conclusion: Guardian Caps use was not associated with a decreased risk of sports-related concussion during practice in the univariable analysis. (relative risk (RR)=1.04, 95% CI 0.58 to 1.86, p=0.90) Is there a possibility that these actually cause MORE concussions? Possibly due to their addition weight and stress placed on the neck? I would say it’s definitely possible. At this time I CANNOT recommend the use of Guardian Caps in any level of football.

@CoachJohnson50 I'm a big fan of "Denali" pants sold at Sams. I'll go to my grave that they're the most versatile piece of clothing ever. I've worn my black ones to a funeral, to work and fishing -- all in the same day.
