My dad for years claimed he was 6'1 even though he was clearly taller (he couldn't imagine bring taller than his older brother who is indeed 6'1). When I was about 20 I told him 'Pops, I'm 6'1 and you're taller than me.' He now admits he's a little over 6'4.

Umm, I've been very poor and that is not the case. You can laugh and whatnot, but I can remember being afraid the lights would be turned off, or hiding from the repo man in a friends parents car. If they would have lost the car, they would lose their job and be homeless.
