Fair point. I think it could be a relatively simple project with small scope. I think it’s also considering the future relationship I will have with the owners so both parties are happy.

Not sure, but applying to jobs via career portals is dead.
Designers need to be connecting with people at the company. It’s genuine and only serious / competent candidates do this.
It’s also more efficient for the company and you, if someone there thinks you’re a good fit.

Been in Greece for 3 days, I’ve been eating everything in sight (breads, pastas and pastries) and am 7 lbs lighter doing only 10,000-15,000 steps per day. No different than my usual activity. The food is different. It’s healthier. Can anyone explain?

Finally going through pics from the Greece trip. Food and weather was incredible. My Greek improved staying there for almost a month living like a local. The only downside is that you will 100% feel depressed when you leave. Till next time 🇬🇷✌️

It’s been a useful tool to use even for a short period time to see what an average week of eating looks like. I’m not diabetic, but that data has helped me significantly with timing carbohydrate loads around training and working

I think we focus too much on the future and it paralyses us to focus on what we need to get done in the present, which what matters most. If we own the day we can own a week, if we own a week we can own a month, if we own the month we can own the year.

Went to go visit a farm with some alpacas the other day. Even though it did smell funny, I’ll say that alpacas have this resting happy face and give off a care free vibe that’s quite contagious 🦙

Designing in isolation is the worst. Don’t do it.
I reached a low point as a design student during the height of Covid for 2 years with school online and freelancing.
Talk to designers, co workers, friends, family. It’ll make you love what you do again if you lose your magic.

I get short term sacrifices. But I’ve witnessed people close to me become unable to work through years of neglecting their health.

I’ve found doing design + dev opens up way more work but focusing on one can be lucrative depending on the budget / complexity of the site… when outsourcing goes smoothly.
It doesn’t make sense to outsource a 5k site but north of 10k, a project becomes super efficient.

There's a lot to be said to improve the current university system... the inflated tuition, unnecessary costs, and mandatory course work etc. That being said, I took a lot with me from my design education and I am glad I accidentally applied to design school ✨

Firm believer in being exceptionally good at what you do, and the opportunity will flow in. It doesn’t matter what you did to get there, it just matters that you are good (>1% good) and get people to see it in some way

This is has some merit. After quitting sugar, dairy and grains for over a year now I haven’t gotten one filling since. I also don’t have any more cravings, funny enough. (The occasional cheat meal and alcohol is very rare now and I only eat twice a day).

If you’re intermittent fasting for the first time or coming back to it, I cannot stress enough how important it is to gradually expand your eating window as opposed to doing it cold turkey. You’ll never stick to it and you’ll feel too uncomfortable to be productive.

As much as this UI design is clean, the dash and car controls are best left as analog. Dials and switches more tangible and less of a hassle to use. A 300k Aston with only screens make me think corners were cut and less thought was put into the interior.

I find it a tad confusing that

requires two interactions to just set a song on repeat. It’s a frequently used function. Also wouldn’t have known to press the “up next” list icon to reveal the loop function. Maybe it’s just me, but there must be simpler way…
