Excited to be part of this important study on the impact of psilocybin on brain network.
After a high dose of psilocybin, the brain desynchronizes at a massive scale, causing loss of our sense of self, time, and space. This may drive the burst of plasticity caused by psychedelics. The next day, brain activity has largely returned to normal, but an echo remains – a reset of circuits critical to the sense of self. Our study is out today in @Nature

What are the representations of #LongCOVID in #Gastrointestinal (GI) outcomes among children and adolescents? I am excited to share that our recent work is now available on medRxiv! We investigated the GI outcomes during the post-acute and chronic phases of COVID-19 using #EHR data from 1,576,933 children and adolescents across 29 health institutions, covering over 10% of the US pediatric population. Our study quantified the increased risk of GI symptoms and disorders, such as abdominal pain and GERD, in children up to two years post-COVID-19 infection compared to a matched cohort without infection. This is one of the largest pediatric studies on the representation of #LongCOVID in GI outcomes. Our work underscores the need for ongoing monitoring and management of GI outcomes in infected children and adolescents.
