It's just that when you have a story that takes itself seriously for half of it, and then doesn't take itself seriously for scenes like this
It creates whiplash. We were taking these characters seriously and now suddenly the game expects us to laugh as one of them gets abused :(

I once tried to emulate Path of Radiance on my old computer, but it crashed if anyone used a staff. So I was forced to do a challenge where no one is allowed to use a staff, including the enemy team. I'd have to go and hunt down their healers before hurting anyone else.

I told you, the Japanese writing has the Narration and Goombella call Vivian a he because Japanese writers only saw Vivian's characterization as a joke
But Vivian herself has only ever called herself a woman
I don't know what "otherwise" you think the Japanese script is saying

Other characters and narration may have also called Vivian a he, but that's just because early 2000s Japan writers thought of trans people as a joke and didn't take their feelings seriously.
That doesn't change the intent to have Vivian herself see herself as a girl 🙂
