Mitsuru and Aki are my favorite duo on P3 for the exact same reason Ann and Ryuji are my fav duo in P5. Stupid horny scenes aside these two just have such a fun bond and you never get the idea that Ryuji has any romantic interest in Ann whatso ever.
Huge fan of Mitsuru and Akihiko's dynamic, I love when a man and woman have an inseparable bond and mutual trust as comrades, without any hint of romantic interest whatsoever
The most upsetting thing about the Chugga situation I keep seeing is people having 0 understanding or empathy for why a woman in that situation wouldn't just tell them to stop. They have no idea how the other party would react to that information or what they might do.
I think it's a pretty safe to assume that P5T and P3RE were meant for P25th but were pushed back a bit due to covid delaying their development. And if that is the case then if they were actually announced on schedule then P25 could've been one of the best anniversary events ever.
When asked about the Female protagonist for Persona 3 Reload, Wada said he considered it, but development would cost more and take longer than The Answer/Episode Aigis. There’s no possibility for FeMC.
He also said that he wants the Persona team to focus on “new games” as well.
If this was P4 there'd be a whole thing with Chie telling Yosuke not to try anything and/or Yosuke making some pervy comments. Also it'd probably find a way to be homophobic.
And I can say that with confidence because it happened.
For about a week there's mention of a school mandatory assembly that happens after summer vacation starts. The game shows literally none of it and when the team meets up Yusuke is also wearing his uniform because he was doing laundry.
If these niggas were in Shujin's student council they would've started boxing with Principal Kobayakawa and Kamoshida frame one unlike that fraud Makoto LMAO
Some other trivia about 7/25 in Persona.
In P3 Strega talks to Shinji about SEES' plans to end the Dark Hour
In P4G the group talks about going to the beach and you can be gay for Kanji
In P5S you meet Sophia (YIPEE :D)
And in the real world it's my birthday
It seems to just be an excuse to have the characters in their uniforms since they're wearing them in the anime cutscene that happens later and if I had to guess those were finished far earlier in development.
When the group enters the palace they aren't wearing shoes since they entered from inside Futaba's house and they presumably took their shoes off at the door. But after they drive to the pyramid they suddenly grow shoes out of thin air.
Something similar happens earlier in the game when the go to see fireworks and the party suggests that Ren goes without his glasses since he doesn't wear them in the anime cutscene. It's also worth mentioning that this is the only time Ren carries his bag like this.
I'm really glad P3RE is implementing the dialogue cut ins from P5 since I felt like those added a lot to those scenes.
Although I do think it's a little lame they're just close ups of their sprites and not animated art that's made just for them.
And of course, I feel like this should go without saying, but it is not the woman's responsibility to coddle the 33 year old man's feelings and explain why buying them shoes so you can get feet pics is stepping so far over the line.
Speaking of the pyramid, there's a giant town that can be seen surrounding it that... doesn't exist lol. The actual town is a short drive away and is no where near as big.
I've had years to look at and think about this discourse and the conclusion I've come to is that Naoto's story is a really interesting and well thought out story about misogyny that also overlaps with transness and transphobia in some very unfortunate and probably unintended ways
Naoto is a trans man written by a transphobic author do you know how common the misconception of "trans men do not want to be men they want to escape misogyny" is? this is a very common sentiment that is echoed by transphobes and somehow you can't make the connection
Persona 4's characters are generally really good. But at the same time I feel like a major part of why it's such a common opinion that P4 has the best cast is because P4 has the shadows that just explain the character arcs in the most blunt way possible.
Oh yeah I forgot one. Yusuke says he was staring at the Pyramid and uh... no he wasn't lol.
This might have just also been from the anime scene being done way earlier so the animators just had him stare at Makoto even though he's like the least horny Persona character ever.
it's crazy to me how akechi was this god awful horrible garbage dumpsterfire poopoo character in base p5 but he got popular with fujos who like toxic yaoi so they just pandered to that crowd and allegedly he's a good character now
None of this is a big deal of course. I think it's fun seeing little mistakes like this that can often give insight into the planning and development that goes into making a game as huge as P5.
While I understand this view point I just wonder what the hell she would've done if she joined sooner. She's still Kasumi at that point so the thing that makes her interesting isn't going to be introduced for another 100 hours and she has no connections to any of the villains.
Even coming to the conclusion that "Well they both share some blame" is just... no... no, one of them is clearly in the wrong, you're just ignorant to or are ignoring the shit women go through on the internet every single fucking day.
The point of P5 is that it takes EVERYONE to change the system, not just some group of teenagers. And that's a way more impactful message then if the Thieves just fixed it all themselves.
P5 isn't just about the shitty adults, but also the slothful masses that enable them.
I'll add onto this and say that a lot of people seem to think that the intent changes the crime. At best the intent can only go so far as to make the situation SLIGHTLY better and that's it. He still did sexual harrassment. End of story.
This is my Cherami Leigh appreciation post. She's one of those VAs who really only has one voice, but she's does so much with her voice that none of her characters ever feel the same.
And can I just say how TERRIBLE of an ending it would be if the Phantom Thieves just fixed everything. The whole point from the VERY start was that they wanted to inspire others to stand up from themselves even when it seemed hopeless.
I'm not gonna go to bat for SIU Director as an amazing character... cause he's not. But he is a clear criticism of the systemic flaws and corruption within the system.
@SMTDrifterII
Makoto chose to ignore the issue and admits she ignored it.
She could've gone to her sister (a high end gov prosecutor) and was a prez/honor student favored in the school. She had 3 years to do something but didnt.
She had avenues she could've taken. We cant say Sae wouldnt do-
Another tip: Starting with a cold open does not work when your character knows the context behind the situation but You - the player don't. It's confusing and annoying because NPCs interact with you like you - the player - were supposed to know them and what's going on.
So I've been replaying Persona 5 Royal on Steam with mods and it's been super fun messing around with the amazing things that the modding community has created.
However there are a few small things that I really wish were mods that I'm gonna talk about in this thread.
What I think a lot of people don't realize about the UI thing is that ever since around the PS3 era Atlus games just have amazing UI that share some dna since most of these games have the same art team. P5 is just the most iconic example.
You guys already know my answer, but I just think this trailer is so cool cause not only was it shown like an hour before the game came out, but also it's one of two trailers where the twist is that it was actually a Smash reveal.
Yaldabaoth and Mementos Depths are a critique of oppressive power structures and people who choose sloth in the face of them and how that not making a choice is still a choice in the face of injustice.
Playing Reload has made me realize how much of my distaste for Fuuka came from her original english VA. I still don't think her writing in OG was that strong, but Reload giving her a VA that actually sells her lines goes such a long way.
It's so funny to me how much side content happens during that week of P5 since it's the only way they can reasonably bring Akechi back along with all the thieves.
@RevivedSenorish
I absolutely despise Persona 5 and anything related to it. I genuinely get upset when someone brings that game up I feel anger boil inside me I despise that game. Persona 3 easily
I know not everyone will agree with this
But I lowkey respect Strikers for not including Akechi in any way, despite him being a fan favorite that they easily could've used in marketing or DLC. Bro died in P5 and they didn't try to shove him into a story he had no place in.
P5's spin-off go to great length to show that the fight for justice and helping others is a constant fight. You can "fix" the system all you like, but if you don't keep fighting for it then those who seek power for them selves will always try to hurt others for their own sake.
I sincerely dont get the hate for this scene or the people who say that Royal "fixed" Akechi. Most of what I love about him is in THIS confrontation right here.
I've seen the discussion come up again about if Royal's ending is cannon. The answer is yes, it is definitely cannon. There's nothing in Strikers that actually contradicts Royal's ending and it works as a follow up to either ending.
Everyone is talking about all the games Nintendo should make movies for.
What Nintendo really needs to do it make a reality TV competition show in the style of Ninja Warrior or Wipeout, but it's just a giant real life game of Mario Party.
I sadly don't have a screenshot of it, but this reminds me of one of my favorite Easter eggs in P5 where on the TV there's a report implying that Wildduck Burger just kept getting worse thanks to Okumura using his connections with Shido to hurt Big Bang Burger's competition.
Persona 5’s biggest sin is giving us this SICK ASS Persona, quite literally the best starter of 3-5…and then making us fuse it. Genuinely what were they thinking
Ryuji and Morgana have one of the best, deepest, and most nuanced relationships in any Persona game but people hate Morgana way too much to ever appreciate it.
Something I really love about Ann and Ryuji's dynamic is that Ryuji clearly has zero interest in Ann as a potential partner. They're just bros who have a super fun dynamic together. That's also just another thing I love about Ann as well. She really is P5's second bro character
i really appreciate how this scene was handled because tbh it speaks a lot to how ann felt totally comfortable to stay with the guys in the room all night AND said she trusted them when pressed on it too
So I disagree with all the visual gripes here personally, but saying "No Answer content"? This trailer didn't even show Mitsuru or Akihiko, you really think they're gonna show the after game epilogue in the first trailer?
This looks like if somebody made a p5 mockup in sfm
Anims look super fucking scuffed
Models look, just ass
Face looks ass
No femc content either, or answer
Good job atlus!
Joker's mask works and looks so cool on him because it was made for his face. His hair is perfectly shaped so that you can't see any of his skin above or behind the mask so it almost becomes a part of his face.
Give it to a character with a different hair line and it looks silly
Nah this is fun banter. All the thieves say shit like this to each other cause they're friends and hit each other with burns all the time. Honestly I think it's a big part of what makes the thieves feel like real friends.
I love that the image they used to tell people to not spoil the game uses Lavenza, one the the biggest spoilers in all of P5 lol
I know og P5 is like 6 years old, but still.
This confidant is really weird cause to do it in the most efficient way possible you have to give him a bunch of terrible advice until like 9 ranks in he suddenly does the right thing. If you pick the responsible answers this isn't an issue, but that way doesn't rank up as fast.
