This is the opposition we have and they have a job to do and hopefully they are capable of doing that in good faith. He is pointing out that Lasantha was murdered before RH was a minister and that during his tenure in government they failed to bring justice. I could be wrong. Point is valid in general. Deflecting is a strategy that's acceptable to a point... After a while it gets stale. All I am intrested in Ishan is to hold this government to the highest standards because that's what they promised.

They failed... that’s why the people elected the NPP. You promised higher standards & real results, so don’t be surprised when people demand them. Deflecting blame, whether to the past or the opposition doesn’t absolve you of your duty. A party of integrity should welcome scrutiny, not shy away from it. Sri Lankans didn’t vote for more excuses. They voted for accountability, justice, and an end to the corruption & impunity that robbed them. The past is well known.
