AOT was not shown in cinemas because the production committee knew that AOT would not sell very well, unlike DS which had a more loyal fanbase and was ready to accept whatever content it had.

Imo the plot and the characters matters way more…I really like aot until season 3 but when i got to marley in the manga i couldn’t believe how deep the plot went and it turned everything on its head.Aot went from a good anime to my best in that arc and hasn’t changed since.
