I think the reason this cut is so underrated is because stuff like this has been normalized by Yutapon at this point.

Yes. I would love to wake up one day with all of Olivier's knowledge and experience etched into my brain, but that's not gonna happen. What I'll actually have to do to get to his level is dedicate hundreds of thousands of hours into perfecting art, but I'm not built like that.

In an industry where the working conditions are actively killing douga, shows like The Elusive Samurai pop up once in a while. Perfect clean-up with extreme attention to detail to showcase the key animator's line art in it's full glory. Beautiful!

Thank you SO MUCH for making this. I wasn't expecting much but this is actually near-perfect. Only the super heavy ghosting isn't removed perfectly, but everything else looks so goddamn good. Just look at this Sou Miyazaki cut:

Is "context" really that difficult of a concept to comprehend? We're watching the strongest demon slayer in a death battle against the strongest demon. It's not animated in the same way as Tanjiro vs Inosuke, because, well, "animation trends" of course! Context be damned.
Mark my words, 15 years from now we will look back on this decade of anime and be baffled at its trend of extremely talented and complex animation that... completely sacrifices and nukes readability.

The aesthetic here is so good. the line art and shading reminds me a lot of strange fake. Episode 13 and the Niinuma sequence from 14 share the top spot for my favourite style in JJK yet, but if this episode manages to look like this for the most part it'll be my new fav.

Kosuke Kato is undoubtedly JJK season 2's ace taking both quality and quantity into account. All of his sequences have been extremely well polished, likely a result of him drawing most of the genga.

Animated by Masami Goto, this scene from Cowboy Bebop's movie is the best animated aerial combat sequence I've ever watched, and one of the best works of animation in general. He's acknowledged by Ichiro Itano himself as an artist who has mastered the Itano Circus.

Incredible sequence, similar to his Tengen v Gyutaro cuts. So much planning went into every single one of Himejima's moves- the way he wraps the chains around his hand to let the centripetal force freely spin and deflect all the attacks; Abe is a star. A master. A monster.

Aah yes, "Genga". Vincent will complete every single drawing of an extremely fluid cut and the individual frames will still be so detailed that they look like they were corrected by the most talented Sakkans in the industry. It is unknown to us as to how he achieves this feat.

Very weird choice to zoom in on these two cuts like this. It's intentional too, as seen from the frame borders in the LO. It would be a very easy change in the Blu ray, but the problem is that since this is intentional it might not be considered a "fix".

He is simply the best. Just one of the ideas in here would be enough to make a whole episode feel special, but he does it for every single cut. Each drawing is intentional and beautifully walks the line between what's easily understood by the viewer and that which is surreal.
