And the funny thing is, my therapist had been trying to get into my insurance company's network for over a year with no success. After I submitted my request, they approved her application to join their network shortly after.

If your insurance company asks "Why do you need to see this particular therapist?". It's 100% OK for you to answer with, "Because I'm dealing with mental issues that are particular to Black people/People of Color and your network doesn't have many therapists whom I identify with"

I said this to the person from my insurance company who asked me that question & he was speechless on that phone 😂 and just said, "Ok, I'll submit the request right now". A week or so later, my therapist was approved and I was able to see her for my regular visit co-pay amount.

My therapy bill went from $75 per visit to $0 with nothing more than a phone call. I PRAYED for my insurance company to approve her cause ain't no way I was paying $75 a week 😂

I didn't know how to code when my first job hired me as an intern. They taught me up to the point that I was able to write/deploy code professionally. Worked there for 6.5 years.
Hire more entry level folks! ❤️
I hired someone for an entry-level tech job who didn't have a tech degree or any other tech experience.
But she's smart and kind and thoughtful. She interviewed better than the techies, so I took a chance and hired her.
Anyway, she's doing great! Maybe you should try it 😊

I had to explain to someone recently just how long Michelle Yeoh has been in the industry and KILLING IT. Very few actors can compete with her resume. She is a living legend 💯

Well, today was my last day on the software engineering team at the DNC. I'm proud to have had a hand in helping save our democracy and equally proud of the work myself and my teammates were able to accomplish. Looking forward to whatever the next chapter of my career is ♥️

I've been in therapy just over 2 years now. I was a WRECK when I walked into my therapists office for the 1st time. But I've grown *so* much since that 1st session. Our sessions have helped me heal trauma I never knew I had. And it's helped show me the best version of myself ❤️

Debugging is 10x harder when it's just you and you're stuck in your own head. The sooner you can introduce someone else to the problem and talk it out with them, the sooner you'll be able to find a solution.

I always see a ton of "how to be productive" videos and books. But never see any, "how to be unproductive and be comfortable with that for a bit" content. I feel like people need this more than the former.

Officially 34 🥳 There was a point in life where I wasn't sure whether or not I'd make it to 25, so I treat each of these years as a gift. Grateful & thankful for all of the blessings this past year has brought. Looking forward to an amazing 2024.

I remember I used to think submitting a huge pull request was a flex 😂 The real flex is being able to break down large features into smaller chunks of deliverable code. Makes it much easier for your team to code-review & it helps you take smaller steps towards completion.

The caveat here is there's several oat milk brands that are low/no sugar with fewer ingredients. Planet Oat is my favorite brand and falls in that category. Also has been tested & doesn't contain pesticides.. And that's the case with most oat milks actually.
