@TheCriticalDri1 @JimFergusonUK Sad state of affairs. 14yrs of tories enriching themselves from tax coffers trashed the country, there was no other choice. Starmer knew he’d win & therefore had no reason to make promises to the people. In an interview he even publicly chose Davos over his OWN parliament. Wtf.

@ThorntonHeath31 @JohnRad15 @BameFor @RushtonMalc Yes. I hate that this is how humans always function and should JohnRad15 be lucky enough to overthrow our current glorious despots, he will soon become the new despot. They always start with the noblest of intentions. The abolition of slavery was still a good thing though.

@JohnRad15 @ThorntonHeath31 @BameFor @RushtonMalc ‘You say you want a revolution well you know we all wanna change the world..’ Russia, France, USA, English Civil war, EU etc - all the same outcome, elites scoffing the pie. To the winner the spoils, no winner ever gave that power to the people. Slavery still illegal here though.

@JohnRad15 @ThorntonHeath31 @BameFor @RushtonMalc So what. That’s how civilisations always move forward. Instigators are always self serving elites. What do you think drove Brexit? And the big one, Magna Carta? Not for us plebs, it’s always about elites getting a slice of the pie. Slavery still illegal though. Job done. ☑️

Show me where I lied. YOUR divisiveness must stop. Britain were no saints and often as savage as every other empire historic or current, but there are no lies here. Slavery is illegal because the B.E. invested large amounts of time, money and lives to make it so. Good riddance.

@boxysav @ThorntonHeath31 @BameFor @RushtonMalc Jesus Christ and the Dalai Lama too. The OP is not "peddling divisiveness" but speaking the honest truth. YOU are peddling lies here.

@ThorntonHeath31 @BameFor @RushtonMalc 🎯 Point is, everyone in the past was hideously wrong on slavery, and times have moved forward as a result of Britain taking a stand. The world is still not free of slavery today, but whatever devisiveness the OP is peddling, slavery is still illegal in Britain. ✅

@loicleclef @Kathleen_Tyson_ @elonmusk When? Was it before Britain did it first the hard & expensive way in a different age when even plebs like us had no voice & extremely limited ‘freedom,’ or was it all done after that precedent was set? 🤔

@qussl3 @Kathleen_Tyson_ @elonmusk Correct. I never knew a slaver, I never agreed with slavery, I was not alive at the time. The British gov are far from perfect, but they did what they could to successfully abolish slavery. Direct your anger at the descendants of those who directly benefited from compensation.

@Kathleen_Tyson_ @elonmusk To abolish slavery I would have done the same thing given the times they lived in and the choices they had. Every other developed society with lucrative slave trades refused. It took 2 decades of trying & failing, the only way to get a bill passed was compensation. ✅ job done.

@Iyervval @elonmusk Many other countries were industrially developed by 1807 yet they didn’t risk their own countrymen’s lives to end global slavery right? Quite the opposite in fact. Parliamentary records show the process, it took almost 2 decades of political wrangling -

@runthinkwrite @Elagabalus39811 For me the best way to navigate modernity is to stay centred & remember my principles - they used to be called Leftist, ie equal opportunity, peace, fairness. Recent megacorps forced alarmism & DEI has made me understand left and right have always been tools used to divide us.
