@PhalaNetwork
If breaking SGX is that easy, we can come up with a Proof-of-SGX-Security by simply putting 2 BTC in a TEE. As long as the BTC is not stolen, SGX can be considered secure to $100k microscope attack 🤷
Most people doing TEE research don’t seem to understand: A brand new Scanning Electron Microscope costs under $100,000
The cost of breaking a secure enclave is estimated to be between $10,000 and $250,000. You can’t use TEEs as blockchain infra, they will be broken.
As an effort to fully switch to
@buildwithsygma
, we have just moved all the $PHA liquidity to the Sygma bridge pool. Now the Sygma bridge pool is the sole biggest $PHA token holder!
Comparing the hashrate of different PoW just like comparing the cores of CPU and GPU. Equihash-BTG is 15x harder than before. Our hashrate was 30M-ish pre-fork and 2M post-fork. It means nearly all the miners didn't leave $BTG.

2. The TEE is the key enabler technology to ensure various human benefits (details omitted)
3. Review the existing TEEs and their problems

3/ A company can even control 90+% of the hashrate for some coins. The security of them is based on the trust of the company. Are them still decentralized? Oh, my bad -- Weiss Rating is never about decentralization. If I am you, I'd rather rate WeChat Pay and AliPay A+++.

2/ What do you mean by "the network is too small"? The number of full nodes is unrelated to the hash power, though we have hundreds nodes on avg. Hashrate is directly proportional to "block reward * coin price". It makes no sense to rate a coin based on the price or block reward.

Original question: "TEE coprocessor vs ZK coprocessor, which is better and efficient?"
My answer:
- Efficient: TEE is
3/ Based on my (very rough) measurements, kappa is anywhere between 10^4 to 10^6 for current systems.
- Theoretical lowerbound from operation counting is about ~1 order of magnitude lower (~10x).
- Abstraction of VMs imposes ~2 order of magnitude overhead (~100x).
So many attacks happened in the Ethereum ecology in the past few years show that we urgently need a more safe language to write smart contract. I personally think Rust it’s a good choice, here is why:
@WeissRatings
Very biased. I doubt if your team is professional.
(1) The dominance of the hashrate matters, not abs value.
(2) The upgrade brings the unique PoW, dominate the hashrate, and thus enhance the security.
(3) ETC is just 3.4% of ETH. Don't you think any big ETH pool is a threat>
container2wasm is a container-to-wasm image converter that enables to run the container on WASM. It converts a container to WASM with TinyEMU-based emulation. Runs on WASI runtimes (e.g. wasmtime, wamr, wasmer, wasmedge, wazero)

Call everyone follow this terminology. Instead of mixing ML models, execution, and data providing layers all together, it calls everything around ML models the “middleware layer”. This is a good solid step to reduce ambiguity, and for the long term health of the industry.
The new CAP paradox: centralized operation, dev ecosystem, autonomy system. Apparently Dfinity is following the footsteps of EOS - they have chosen centralization and heavily subsidized dev eco. But how can Dfinity or EOS compete with more centralized AWS or Azure?

More vulnerabilities found and patched by microcode update. It shows how hard the system security is, and how important the TCB recovery mechanism is. Thanks to the great work by researchers, we will have a even more secure computer system.
ÆPIC Leak: Check out our newest attack on Intel SGX. We found that non-aligned reads from the APIC registers reveal stale data, including data processed inside Intel SGX enclaves. We demonstrate the impact by leaking SGX's attestation, AES-NI, and RSA keys and more.
I’d think it in a security framework. To get trustless for composability, we need:
1. Correctness: the program must execute as designed
2. Liveness: nobody can stop anyone to interact with the program
TEE basically gives the free correctness property by design. But we still
Fell in rabbit holes talking TEE app composability last night
Simple model:
Smart contracts = atomically&trustlessly composable
TEEs = trustlessly composable (code integrity)
anything with an API = composable
Offchain can compose cross and in-domain, SCs only in-domain

1/n How would you implement an automated threat detection and prevention for substrate-based chains? Likely you’d have to sacrifice a degree of decentralization using an untrusted off-chain worker & centralized triggers to halt your chain, but what if there was a secure OCW with
Cypherpunks, cryptographers, and decentralization aficionados (and myself) being asked about the questionable popularity of TEEs, threatening the decentralization equilibrium.
