By enabling L1 validators to commit to L2 states with preconfirmations, we allow for a great UX with fast transaction confirmations, while fairly distributing congestion and contention fees amongst all participants in the base layer.

to arrive at synchronous composability, you need to use a shared sequencer.
in Gwyneth's case, we use the most based sequencer of them all — Ethereum L1 itself. based sequencing provides Ethereum decentralization, security, and liveness.
