He called it embarrassing that he was given a platform considering he got worse after leaving the organization.

New York is a tough market. Fans and media. Analytics are fine BUT when you have a bad product (and it’s obvious) and it gets defended by constantly telling you it’s not as bad as it looks b/c so and so analytic is actually really good. This is how a fan base gets frustrated

Today we lost an amazing woman, Kelly Rodman, to a battle with cancer. She was an amazing scout, baseball mind, and all around human. I’ll miss seeing you at the turkey drive every year, our talks about baseball but I’ll miss even more our talks about life. RIP Kelly ❤️❤️

The crazy thing about the Tatis Jr homer is people are acting like that pitch was grooved. That was a well spotted 3-0 pitch. Low and away in the zone. Most hitters are thinking pull side damage 3-0, getting big and rolling that to short. Impressive swing and approach

The reliance on HITFX OPS in Yankees org is why you see the product you see. Rewards exit velo, launch angle, walks. Strikeouts do not negatively effect so you’re better off K’ing than putting a soft hit in play. It is taught throughout the minors and used to make FA decisions

Yankees had success with analytics too. Luke Voit was a strong HITFX OPS guy that I’m sure they felt was better than his numbers said in St Louis. Had a good run with Yankees and they got great value from that. Gallo…other side of that coin

2018 I got sent down from AA to A+ while hitting .315 in 200 ABs. Reason given was HITFX OPS was lower than real OPS. AKA I was getting “lucky”. That was the first time an analytic was used against me

Bruh you should see how the minor league system is being run. No fundys. I kid you not in 2020 spring we played live games where it was offense vs pitchers. You got a “point” for any ball hit over 95+ and the pitchers got a “point” for every K. Normal runs didn’t matter 😂

Who cares how the “farm” does…? It’s about developing players to make a winning big league team. Not a winning minor league system. Your definition of better is analytical anyway. 2016-2018 all Yankees minor league teams were making minor league playoffs

Yes I did..us older guys refused the training. 2019 we won AA title. Great team with pros. We all stuck to our routines and in July before trade deadline Player Dev came down and reamed us out. Said we’re all lazy because we wouldn’t hit machine bf game.

Been saying this on my Twitter for months. I do believe there is a place in the game for analytics. It needs to be a healthy mix. It’s not a knock on the coaches they have. They were doing exactly what they were hired to do. The strategy of running an org like this is just dumb

Another thing I found I wrote from 2004. I said I’d be the shortstop for the Yankees 😂 but ironically the story I wrote has Yankees v Red Sox..Red Sox take a 3-0 lead. Yankees win 4 straight. Curse continues. Exact opposite happened in 2004! (Also in my dreams I had serious pop)
