All over the world the left as their MO uses race or anything to divide the people. Then labels it as oppressor vs oppressed. When you start to think in their terms of everything is about race you've fallen into their trap and you're playing their game under their rules.
People have to realize something: America is one of the most, if not THE most, diverse nations on earth. What it means to be an “American” is going to look different for different people. We don’t need to whitewash that for some homogeneous unattainable image of what “America” is. We should embrace that and bring people together that way. All of the Little Italy’s or Chinatowns or Little Havana’s around this country doesn’t bother me. Hispanic Heritage Month doesn’t bother me. Italian-American Heritage Month doesn’t bother me. Columbus Day doesn’t bother me. Irish American Heritage Month (which is next month by the way) doesn’t bother me. St. Patrick’s Day doesn’t bother me. I participate and celebrate with my brothers and sisters in other tribes and it takes nothing away from me as a Black man. I live in a city where there’s a bunch of Irish Americans and Italian Americans. I KNOW how proud they are of their heritage and that’s FINE. I’m not offended when I see them show that pride. Some people view it as “divisive” when we do it but I’m consistent across the board. I embrace us for who we are and I ask for the same, and many times THAT is what actually works to bring unity, not some whitewashing of our heritage and our cultural diversity. So I get the spirit in which you’re coming from. I really do. And I do understand that people have intentionally used our diversity as a weapon against each other. But I just believe that embracing our differences instead of pretending like they don’t exist is what will actually produce real unity. I will embrace your heritage and history just like I want you to embrace mine. That’s what produces true unity. That’s what I believe. 🤷🏿‍♂️
