I'm sorry, but I can't give equity any credence when it is being peddled by a movement that is throwing black voters off of voter registration lists with old Jim Crow laws. Over 4 million blacks, hispanics and asians wiped off the rolls because they were on a list compiled by TrueTheVote and disseminated to all the counties where those Jim Crow laws still exist and can be exercised after the Supreme Court overturned the Voting Rights Act.

It wasn't just an audit. It was a unilateral and quite illegal spending freeze not authorized or promulgated by Congress. Doge secured access to USAID's computer system and shut down all the payments before even mentioning anything to Congress. Rubio (AFTER THE FACT) appealed to Congress about consulting what they had already done. And the Judge did cite everything. Why don't you read it for yourself. Here's the memo in support of the temporary restraining order. Violation of the Separation of Powers Violation of the Take Care Clause Violation of the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) Violation of the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 While the President can direct internal reviews and audits within the executive branch, the scope and impact of such audits are subject to legal constraints. The Government Accountability Office (GAO), established by Congress, serves as the primary auditing body for federal programs and expenditures. Any attempt by DOGE to assume similar functions without congressional authorization could be viewed as exceeding executive authority.

Have you ever read the Constitution? Separation of power establishes that Congress writes the laws. They fund agencies, earmark funds for all departments. Article 1, Section 8 The Necessary and Proper Clause: "To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof." This allows Congress to create laws needed to implement its enumerated powers, including the creation and regulation of federal agencies. Article I, Section 9: "No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time." Known as the Appropriations Clause, this ensures that federal agencies cannot spend money unless Congress specifically authorizes it through appropriations bills.

@Valerie287855 @Airsuzuki @elonmusk I've known several gay and lesbian teachers. They never even once told the students what their sexual orientation was. They never discussed orientation at all.

Actually, I'll tell you what Liberals are going to do - we're going to bury Jim Crow once and for all and put all the perpetrators of this corrupt administration in jail. We've had enough of your throwing out long lists of black voters off registration rolls so your cronies can win elections.

What you have is a culture that doesn't respect education and hard work. We have incredible productivity because we import the people to give us the tools to produce more. It doesn't respect intelligence, science, and expertise. It glorifies sports, super stars, and fads. America leads the world in cultural exploits and trails the world in curiosity. You can blame teachers all you want, but people don't even want to teach. There's a massive teacher shortage. It doesn't pay well, and it's a thankless job. So who are you kidding? And this 👇🏻

Even if Trump can escape accountability, the American people wont be able to escape the detrimental effects of Trump's malfeasance. It's well deserved. Some people learn from the lessons of others, while others have to learn from personal experience. The latter are what we refer to as fools.

@anders_aslund I see so many lies on X, it's ridiculous and almost all of it comes from the MAGA crowd. He gravitates toward lies and conspiracy, and he's learned to speak that language. It must be a strategy game to him.

That's hard for a lot of Americans to do. Fools don't learn the lessons of history because they don't know history. So they have to learn from personal experience, and you can be sure they will. Trump and his appointees are doing everything to gut the organs of accountability, but they can't stop their malfeasance from negatively impacting the American people.

The Judiciary Act of 1789 grants federal courts the power to issue remedies necessary to resolve cases before them, which has been interpreted to include nationwide injunctions. The Constitution lays out the separation of powers in which Judges interpret the laws and the Constitutional basis for those laws written by Congress.

@erik_warga @anders_aslund If they flagrantly violate the law in a big way, there must be accountability, although I'm sure Trump would pardon him.

@UN @UNFCCC Yes, and it's quite possible we could see +3C in 2050 instead of 2100 like the IPCC is projecting. January was +1.75C going into La Nina. Not a good sign.

@anders_aslund In a country where Jim Crow is still on the books in U.S. states. Where one individual can take a list of tens of thousands of black voters and challenge their right to vote, even if they don't know them.
