I've now watched a full day of Premier League less the time I spent on campus. I think I'm going to watch a couple of weekends before offering my total allegiance to a club. Went back and read this 2023 @SportsSturm article on choosing a team.

I'm out on Villa. can't support a team that puts powder blue with Maroon. If I stick with Newcastle. first thing. are we any good? Second. who's our best player? I'm getting pressured from @bobcarskadon to follow Brighton.
@bartgregory Their best player is trying desperately to leave, could be a tough year for them. If you want to avoid one of the big clubs, the team they are playing today, Aston Villa is a good choice. But we'd love to have you at Chelsea @brocktseed @RobbyDonoho.

Don't think I want to go with a trendy pick. So no to Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal. I'm kinda leaning Newcastle. They're the northern most team. Somewhat close to my favorite city of Edinburgh. Green kit. Let's Go Newcastle. But I can be persuaded otherwise.

State/LSU game was televised on ABC. later that night on CBS was the Boom Boom Mancini and Kim Duk-koo fight that resulted in the death of Kim Duk-koo and led to boxing matches being shortened from 15 rounds to 12. Nice memory from my good friend @LaneBurroughs23.

Fight outside the fair cabin last night between a 50's guy and a guy in his 20's around 1 am. Just like Tyson and Jake Paul. But probably more actual punches. I was upstairs reading a book. I knew Michelle and Brandon were there to protect us.

Thinking back to the late 80's, the Cubs and Braves were the two teams you watched almost every day. Cubs in the afternoon and Braves at night. Ryne Sandberg and Dale Murphy felt like family. Feels like losing some of your childhood tonight.

Summer gives an opportunity to do some reading. My reading partner, Henry Byrne and I recently finished - Theo of Golden. Thought it was worth sharing. Great book about a kind but mysterious man who moved to a small GA town. His actions create life changing relationships.📚

I don't mean this in a negative way. but. I still find it fascinating the "best league" in America still allows media to anonymously dictate a poll. and the league still actively promotes it. Who voted? And who voted for who? Preseason media polls are useless.

One final thought. I give him a hard time because we've been good friends for a long time. But what Bo Hemphill accomplished this year in fundraising is one the most impressive accomplishments I've ever seen in college athletics. He made Mississippi State a lot better.

From a financial management side, Jenna Lea Iupe and Steven Brown are finance wizards. And, of course, the boss man Josh McCowan is a constant positive vibe that lets us do our thing and to "just get it done". We've got a great team in the Bulldog Club. Love these people.
It's been a "full-throttle" year for us in the Bulldog Club. Awesome to have so many lifelong relationships with great donors. We've shattered teams goals, I've shattered personal goals. Bo Hemphill, Zack Herrington, and Emmie Perkins and. many other people worked tirelessly.
