@LiveFreeOrDie40 @devinzander Incorrect, every dollar spent on public transportation returns 5x back. And sure, a car-oriented bedroom community will see less crime, but then you're not allowed to complain about less public services (and a lot of the SW SL county communities are complaining about service)

@LiveFreeOrDie40 @devinzander The beauty of life is there are multiple ways to fix problems. If you want to carpet this beautiful state in more freeways, fine, but the other half of the "We" in this state will continue to advocate for other options 🤷‍♂️

@LiveFreeOrDie40 @devinzander Yep let's get rid of rail and shove more cars onto I-15. Multiple modes of travel can only benefit the masses.

Now that we know UTA is looking at battery hybrid LRVs, it effectively makes a blue line extension cheaper than a new O&M facility in Draper. 4 miles of single track without catenary could be built insanely cheap.

@KenKirtland17 What's the point of keeping the nose cone attached if you'll never need it again? The saved weight could be extra supplies to the surface (every pound counts)

In today's UTA board meeting, we got a new render of the Stadler CityLink vehicle. This definitely looks like the longer 111 ft variant, and not the 83 ft variant UTA officially signed for. Wondering if I should edit my BSL article at the last minute

@devinzander @BenPeck12 It's really unfortunate. I decided to walk around there a week ago after not having been then for years. With the amount of stuff there (library, new arts center soon) it absolutely should be moved closer

I'm already planning my escape from twitter, but I wanted to say this. In the context of safety, the mayor absolutely has a point here. We only have one chance to do this right, so let's do it right.

Personally agree with everything the mayor said here. This design would effectively kill any possibility of reconnecting 300 S with the west side in the future.

@SpencerRiehl @devinzander It sounds like this will be privately developed and UTA will only lease a couple floors. But how that works exactly is a big mystery

We're the next swing state. We're screwed. Get ready for lots of Gavin Newsom visits.
