The role of @WFP_UNHAS πΊπ³remains critical in #Nigeriaπ³π¬ Their air services allow the UN, NGOs, donors & devt agencies safely access and operate in insecure, hard-to-reach areas. Consequently, life-saving aid can reach forcibly displaced conflict-affected communities rapidly. ππΌ

Congratulations to HE Governor of Benue @HyacinthAlia and HE Federal Minister for Humanitarian Affairs @fmha_pa @nentawe1 for launching a pragmatic Benue State Action Plan for #IDP Solutions. @unhcrnigeria will support the government find solutions for IDPs across #Nigeria π³π¬
"Today, we visited one of the six farm locations spanning over 600 hectares of land, cultivated through the collective efforts of 210 cooperatives formed by more than 4,000 household leaders. This inspiring achievement showcases the resilience and determination of our people in rebuilding livelihoods and fostering food security. We also launched the Durable Solutions Initiative for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), a transformative step toward sustainable recovery, reintegration, and long-term development. This remarkable partnership between the Benue State Government, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, international partners, and other MDAs is a model for impactful collaboration. We deeply appreciate the commitment of His Excellency, Governor Fr. Hyacinth Alia, whose leadership continues to inspire progress and hope for Benue State. Together, we are building a brighter and more inclusive future."

One of the highlights at the #CalabarCarnival2024 was when @EUinNigeria chief @GautierMignot2 met with Cameroonian #refugees. Refugees spoke of the need to accelerate their socio-economic inclusion. That they donβt want handouts. We all need to work together to make this happen.

For the first time at the Calabar Carnival, the govt, @UNFPANigeria, @WHONigeria, @unhcrnigeria and its partners came together to: - provide health screening; - raise awareness on gender violence; - provide livelihood opportunities for refugees. Amazing staff and volunteers.
