I'm a lawyer. It's so weird to me when I represent a male client and they push off everything onto their wives. I would be so pissed if I was the wife. I do estate litigation, and these types tell the wife to do the dirty work in relation to *his* family's estate.

We moved recently and my old neighbors (big family) were Afghani. They assisted US forces in their former country. Lovely people. *Not that anyone should be bitching about ANY kid getting free ice cream.

I grew up near Appomattox. It always impressed me when I visited hearing the stories of mutual honor and respect shown by both sides at the surrender. The nation knew it needed to heal. I cannot comprehend why people get so worked up about it today.

I had the rare Catholic W today. My pro bio says that I'm Catholic (and active). Most of the time, clients point this out and say, "I used to be Catholic." For the first time in my professional life, a client mentioned this and enthusiastically claimed to be "proudly Catholic."

I took the family out to brunch at a nice steakhouse after my daughter's first communion. My wife and I had prime rib and drank wine. We came back to the house on a rainy Sunday and took a long nap. It was glorious.

I understand conservative reservations about blanket student loan forgiveness. At the same time, a huge portion of our population have student loans. Calling all of them slackers and losers is not a winning strategy. You must also speak to those people if you want to win.
