A typical BBC Question Time audience. Question after question basically accusing Nigel Farage of being a racist. I know him and I can assure you that he is not.

One assumes that House of Commons authorities will insist that he now isolates for two weeks. If not, why not? What do you have to say,
@Keir_Starmer
?
Been social distancing since March. Today I broke it to join the
#BlackLivesMattter
demo outside Parliament and take a knee with thousands of brave young people calling for Justice.
Lady Hussey has been treated appallingly. She may have said things which today appear inappropriate, but I have no doubt that she was set up by Ngozi Fulani, who has a history of anti-monarchy remarks. It’s a disgraceful way to treat someone who faithfully served out late Queen
Great, witty speech from
@TheBluetrot
(Brian Monteith) during the Court of Auditors' annual report debate in the European Parliament in Strasbourg this evening. Please RT.
Francis Hoar has just given one of best interviews I have ever listened to - completely demolishing the arguments of those in favour of interminable lockdowns and restrictions. What a great defender of freedom he is.

I am honoured to be a
@brexitparty_uk
candidate for Yorkshire and the Humber in the forthcoming European Parliament elections. I obviously wish we had already left the EU and that these elections were not taking part, but I am very much looking forward to the campaign.
If you bother to talk to ordinary Leave voters, as I did in seven constituencies last week, you would realise that they are angry. It is the future of their country that they are bothered about.
@andreajenkyns
is saying what they are saying. She's sticking up for her constituents
Could someone / anyone remove Ms Jenkyns’ access to Twitter. We are drowning in vacuity. We are dealing with the future of our Country not some mystic meg predictions
Sir Keir Starmer visits
#Hull
, one of the biggest Leave voting cities in the country, and says Labour should campaign to remain in the EU. The city's Labour MPs agree. Whatever happened to
#Labour
respecting the result of the referendum?
Thick people (codename for the masses who voted Leave) should be disenfranchised. Gifted children who would vote Remain should be enfranchised immediately. Elderly people - thank you for your service, now bugger off. That's what he's saying.
Under-age people can’t vote. Whatever our criterion for thinking them unqualified (eg insufficiently developed reasoning powers or knowledge) there must be some adults less qualified than some under-age people. Is age the only practical threshold or could others be devised?
Great piece by
@CamillaTominey
. Like him or not, Boris Johnson has been leading the world in its response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The EU has been dragged along.
Another great letter in today's
@Telegraph
. "Over four million 20ft container units pass through Felixstowe every year, on 3,000 ships. The vast majority are from the Far East. There are no queues of ships at Felixstowe and no hordes of customs or standards officers."
I'm looking forward to my interview with

tomorrow morning attacking vaccine passports. They are unworkable and divisive. What the hell is happening to our country? Tune-in to Mike's show from 10am. I'll be on after the news at 10.30.
“Gloucestershire police said on Friday they would patrol the border to make sure people in Wales did not cross to buy contraband items.” Children’s clothes are on the contraband list. Welcome to Wales in 2020.
Great comment on the Telegraph's website this morning from a Brexit backing Conservative member who has been asked to go on the doorstep to defend the Chequers deal.

Fraser is not an establishment twit. He was doing his job. But Nigel, is, of course, correct. Large, uncontrolled, levels of immigration put an enormous strain on public services. It shouldn't be controversial.
If it was a run-off between Sunak and Badenoch, Badenoch would win by 60-34 per cent - a massive 26 percentage points. Indeed, Kemi Badenoch would beat all the remaining candidates according to

Piers Morgan vs Douglas Murray Under Fire At Israel-Gaza Border. This is one of the best interviews I have ever listened to.
@DouglasKMurray

what do we read into

telling MPs that as 'Prime Minister i'm not' willing to extend article 50 beyond June 30.' is she suggesting someone else will be PM by then?
Pubs and restaurants in my neck of the woods have been closed for over three and half months. By the time we get to 17th May, it will be almost six and a half months. I shudder to think how many of them will not reopen again.

She wants to secure a Peerage first. I have often wondered if the notification of my Peerage has been lost in the post. I deserve one. Perhaps I should throw my toys out of the pram?
Health Secretary
@MattHancock
has said that the pause in the roadmap will save thousands of lives. Look at the figures for the last month. If that statement were true, there would have to be the mother of all exponential growth in the next 28 days. It's not true. He knows it.

From the Great Reform Act 1832 to the Representation of the People Act 1928, every piece of electoral reform has been resisted by the ruling elite. It's the same with Brexit. We have to continue to fight to ensure the real people's vote is honoured. Vote

It is my job to defend the right to peaceful protest. But quite of the word "peaceful" is forgotten when arguing for this right. This is intimidation and the police should be called and be asked to remove them, if necessary, making arrests.

In the Middle East, all roads lead to Iran. We can’t stand back and do nothing. But doing something isn’t risk free, either. This does not have a happy ending.
I disagreed with what Andrew Boff was saying, but he was hardly that disruptive. Any politician should be able to cope with that. To get a GMP Chief Inspector to escort him out of the hall was, in my opinion, an abuse of power. This is more CCP than GB.
So the lefties have got their man. According to them, a few ill judged tweets make you unsuitable to serve on an advisory board. Being a friend of terrorists and supporting despots in Venezuela & Iran makes you prime ministerial material.
Peel split the Tory Party on principles. May is about to do it because she's weak and wants to save her skin. And the cabinet has just agreed to it. Not one of them has a backbone.

In June, when I was looking at booking a holiday for us, I was looking at Brittany. I decided against it because there was the possibility of a quarantine, and instead we are heading to Devon and Cornwall in a few days. I'm pleased I made that decision.

It is estimated that he inherited £200 million - £300 million from his late father's estate. He can afford all the green crap. Many families, though, could be forced into penury.
Every time EU officials come out with stuff like this, the more people realise that it's right for us to leave this bullying anti-democratic bloated bureaucracy.

I honestly don't think that she is doing that. Like many people, I was delighted by the ruling and so was she. She was your school's Chair of Governors, so she still has an interest in the school. You do a fantastic job and long may Michaela be successful.
"it's now or never", says Boris Johnson, but doesn't confirm that restrictions will be axed on 19th July. A announcement will be made next Monday instead. What is the point of this press conference?
There are 1,257 NHS hospitals. Look at the figures below and put them into context. Can anyone tell me why the NHS is not running a normal service? Why can’t I get an appointment at my local pain clinic? We need to get back to normal.
Please sign this declaration written by Infectious disease epidemiologists & public health scientists who have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies.
Nigel Cowan from Cheltenham is spot on in this letter to the Telegraph. "Her behaviour demeans her office and insults her colleagues and the electorate. If she had a shred of decency she would resign now".
Exactly three years ago. After recording this, I went into the European Parliament for the last time and had coffee with friends. My wife, son and I then caught the Eurostar to London; then a train back to Beverley. I toasted our official exit at 11pm at home. Great memories.
@KHarveyProctor
I recall being at a meeting back in 1997. At the end of it, John Burton, who at the time was Tony Blair's agent, told us about the security measures at Blair's constituency home. The drive was covered in tarmac. Security barriers were put in place. Other, unspecified at the time

I think that we should stop using the word “Antisemitism” to describe the hatred towards Jews we have been witnessing. Let’s speak in plain English and call it Jew hatred. Hamas hates Jews. Hezbollah hates Jews. The evil Iranian regime hates Jews. Those in Germany who spray paint
I think that we have all had enough of American politicians sounding off about the Northern Ireland Protocol, and in the process, highlighting how little they know about it. We don’t interfere in domestic US politics. They should butt out of the UK’s
“We call upon the UK to implement fully the NI Protocol, which avoids a hard border on the island of Ireland, preserves the integrity of the EU Internal Market, and protects the Good Friday Agreement in all its parts. We agree that renegotiating the Protocol is not an option.”
It is also highly offensive to label someone like me, a freedom loving democrat, of holding similar views to those in the BNP and EDL. It appears that
@ChukaUmunna
's new kind of politics is very similar to the old.
I know emotions are running high but can we stop labelling Eurosceptic MPs "far right"
It's not only inaccurate and renders the term meaningless but also doesn't seem consistent with talk of a new moderate politics ...

Let me get this right. No appointments at a surgery because everyone is busy vaccinating. But if you want to pay, you can see your GP. I’m not opposed to private medicine at all. I pay for a private dentist. But I’d rather like my taxes reduced so I don’t have to pay twice.
This is dangerous, as
@Adrian_Hilton
rightly points out. If anyone tells me that Jesus didn't exist, I accept it as their opinion - I don't think that they should be prosecuted.
“Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.”
I can hardly wait for the development of case law on what constitutes ‘Muslimness’. I expect it will become a de facto and then de jure blasphemy code.

I have had many long conversations with Lady Thatcher’s last private secretary, Sir Mark Worthington, and I can assure you that she would have taken us out of the EU and the single market. The single market was not what she envisaged. It’s a regulatory market - not a free market.
New Health Secretary,
@sajidjavid
, has just given MPs all the reasons why there is nothing stopping us removing
#Covid
restrictions, and then announced that they will still be in place for at least another three weeks.
John Simpson is defending the indefensible. When a proscribed terrorist organisation commits atrocities, it is correct, balanced and fair to call them terrorists. Is it really that hard for the
#BBC
to understand that?
In September 1939, when Britain’s very survival was at stake, the BBC issued rules to its staff how to broadcast about the coming war. You must be frank and honest, it said — and above all there must be no room for ranting. Wise words, entirely applicable today.
I am not a Thatcherite because she got everything right. She didn’t and she freely admitted that. I am a Thatcherite because she believed in free people and free markets. She transformed our country. I doubt that there will ever be a better Prime Minister in my lifetime. R.I.P.
Margaret Thatcher passed away on this day ten years ago.
She was a warrior for freedom and liberty, a truly great leader of courage and conviction.
The Iron Lady is hugely missed by the free world.
